When it comes to prioritizing and practicing<br />

occupational health and safety, our Corporate <strong>Safety</strong><br />

and Health Policy promotes a workplace culture<br />

emphasizing care as a shared responsibility. Our<br />

Health, Environment, and <strong>Safety</strong> Group (HESG) sets<br />

the codes of conduct, practices, and mandatory health<br />

and safety standards on all aspects of our operations.<br />

At the core of it, however, is our Lopez value<br />

Employee Welfare and Wellness and the genuine<br />

empathy and goodwill felt by our employees. They<br />

know that they can count on each other, and their<br />

company, to look out for everyone’s welfare.<br />

Apart from ensuring that the physical facilities are<br />

well-maintained and strictly compliant with building<br />

safety codes, <strong>EDC</strong> also sees to it that the employees<br />

are kept well-informed and trained in the procedures<br />

that guarantee their safety, including in the event<br />

of an emergency. <strong>Safety</strong> trainings are continuously<br />

conducted in all the facilities to ensure that all workers,<br />

both employees and contractors, are knowledgeable<br />

of the safety standards and programs, aware of the<br />

various hazards and corresponding control measures<br />

at the workplaces, and fully compliant with safety<br />

rules and regulations.<br />

Ours is a case of mutual trust: the employees trust that<br />

the company will keep them safe, and the company<br />

trusts that the employees and contractors take their<br />

safety training to heart and will be able to handle<br />

themselves should the occasion call for it.<br />

<strong>EDC</strong> recognizes and safeguards the human right<br />
