Kokoy Villegas, who has an MBA<br />
from AIM, is our VP for Business<br />
Development for Asia. It was Kokoy<br />
that led the early moves into wind<br />
energy, now solar energy, and the<br />
acquisitions of Palinpinon, Tongonan,<br />
and Bacman. Kokoy and I have been<br />
working together for 16 years and I<br />
know that under his entrepreneurial<br />
leadership, the company will grow.<br />
Arman Lapus, our entrepreneur par<br />
excellence, is our VP and Managing<br />
Director for Latin America. Under<br />
Arman, what used to be an aspiration<br />
to grow globally is now a reality with<br />
over 10 high-quality concessions and<br />
applications in Chile and Peru. The<br />
day will arrive when most of EDC’s<br />
earnings will come from overseas<br />
and the crucial phase of setting it<br />
all up for success rests on Arman’s<br />
entrepreneurial shoulders.<br />
The other members of the team are:<br />
Manny Ogena, our SVP who heads<br />
our Geosciences and Reservoir<br />
Engineering Group with his 36 years<br />
of experience at EDC. Manny is one<br />
of the world’s top experts in wet<br />
steamfield geothermal technology.<br />
Andrew Whittome, who advises our<br />
Drilling Group, brings to bear 40<br />
years of experience. He has effectively<br />
brought in fresh, critical, and global<br />
thinking into our mindsets and<br />
processes with astounding results.<br />
Drilling constitutes our largest annual<br />
capex. He is both a geologist and civil<br />
engineer and was the VP for Project<br />
Development of Supreme Energy<br />
(Jakarta) and Project Director of<br />
Calpine Corporation (California) prior<br />
to advising EDC.<br />
Erwin O. Avante, our VP for Corporate<br />
Finance and Compliance Officer,<br />
comes to EDC by way of First Gen. I<br />
have worked with Erwin for 16 years<br />
in my past assignments in the Lopez<br />
Group, including putting up the gas<br />
pipeline in Batangas, turning around<br />
the North Luzon tollways project,<br />
and completing various mergers<br />
and acquisition transactions. A CFA<br />
charterholder and CPA by profession,<br />
he was involved in the strategic<br />
acquisition of EDC since 2007 and<br />
makes sure the Company always has a<br />
sound financial capital structure.<br />
Ferdi Poblete, our Chief Information<br />
Officer and VP of the Information<br />
Technology (IT) Group, created<br />
EDC’s five-year IT masterplan that has<br />
significantly transformed our business<br />
processes and technologies by<br />
