Let The Wedding Ceremony
& the Reception
take place on the same
venue.
Let the wedding ceremony and
the reception take place at a venue
that can accomodate both your
nuptial ceremony and your reception.
This will reduce the stress of
invitees displacing themselves
long distances just to please you.
Avoid an all night wedding
party
It is more secure for your invitees to
get home soonest during the rainy
season. Even if you insist on an all
night party, I doubt your invitees will
follow suit. So organize your reception
such that before 8 pm, guests can feel
free to start returning home.
Make sure transportation to
the venue is not a problem.
Last minute errands never lack. Just
make sure that a means of transportation
is readily available for whatever
errand to be carried. That way the rain
doesn’t feel to uncomfortable for
those involved in wedding.
Be keen about the venue
During the rainy season there is usually great winds,
and depending in which region of Cameroon you get
married in, temperatures can go as low as 5°c. Therefore
be sure to find a venue that provides adequate
shelter and does not leave your invitees dying of cold.
As said earlier, the venue should be able to accomodate
both the nuptial ceremony and your reception. It is
possible to invite the mayor over for the nuptial ceremony.
It is preferable if the reception venue is a hall.
Limit your guest list
Given that it is the rainy season,
managing the weather alone will
be stressful enough. If you intend
inviting too many people maybe
you should stick to celebrating
your wedding in the dry season.
Managing as 70-100 invitees
during a rainy season wedding
should be enough.
Special Consideration
should be given to the reception
venue entrance.
Being in Cameroon, it is likely that
the sorrounding environment will be
filed with muddy roads. Find a way to
get your invitees clean their feet
thoroughly before getting into the
hall.
