Orlando Renaissance Writers Guild
Our 2017 Theme is
“Count It All Joy”
Ten years, one decade. Where did the time go? Over 100 newly published authors have showcased
their work at our monthly meetings. We have given many artists an opportunity to display
their talent. Our Guild has published its first Anthology and I have penned my first novel "Saving
Grace". We have recognized many in our community with our Humanitarian of the Year award for
what they have done to create a strong, safe and educated Central Florida.
In an effort to encourage literacy in our community as a means to a productive future, ORWG has
donated funds to provide books to preschools, tutoring programs and scholarships. We are in trying
times and as authors and aspiring writers it is our duty to educate, motivate, inspire ourselves and others
to new levels of leadership and intellect. In the beginning was the Word and with words we must
endeavor to make the world better and fairer for all humans.
We would like to thanks our sponsors and supporters who without none of this would have been
possible. It has not always been easy, but looking over the past decade, with encouragement from
friends and supporters like you "We Count It All Joy” as we work together to make a better tomorrow..
Write Your Story!
Love, Peace and Joy!

The Orlando Renaissance Writers’ Guild
Mission:
To act as a support group of aspiring as well as published authors.
Goal:
To encourage, inspire and motivate individuals to write about themselves, their community
and heritage and subjects that stimulate a desire to write. It is also our goal to
increase the number and visibility of black published authors in the local, national and
global arena by sharing information on publishing, establishing copyrights, editing and
marketing services.
History:
In April 2002, Ted Hollins encourage a group of friends – lovers of the written word –
who had a desire to put pen to paper to come together to discuss their desire to become
published authors. During subsequent gatherings they shared their writings with each
other and as word of mouth spread the group expanded. Thus, The Orlando Renaissance
Writers Guild was born! Meetings are held once a month and are hosted by
various businesses throughout the Orlando area.
