Renewable Power Production
Renewable energy is the electrical energy obtained from natural ways. This
energy is inexhaustible because they are capable of regenerate through natural
ways. The renewable energies we can count the hydroelectric, geothermal, eolic
and solar energies.
Hydroelectric Energy
The hydroelectric energy produces electric energy to take advantage of the
energy in the water moving. The hydroelectric plant consist in three parts:
First one, a hydroelectric main plant where the electricity is produced. The
second one is a dam which can be opened and closed to control the pass of the
water and a deposit where the water is stored. The water flows at the entrance
makes pressure against the blades of a turbine in the hydroelectric main plant.
The rotate of the turbine is produced mechanic energy which is transformed into
electrical energy. The amount of the electrical energy production for the
hydroelectric plant depends on the height reached by the waterfall.
At the present time, the hydroelectric energy is one of the cheaper and less
contaminated ways to generate electrical energy. This resource of energy is clean
and it renews every year through rain is falling.
This kind of energy is accessible, because the engineers may control the
amount of water which flows through the turbines to produce the energy.
The engineers of the Costa Rican Power Institute (ICE) made a
preliminary evaluation to known if is possible produce hydroelectric energy in
the resort. The study was made in August 2012.
In the report brief by the ICE, they indicated what the twice river around
the Rio Perlas Resort are clean water river and it has the adequate topography
and flows for the hydroelectric exploitation.
