EX-SDI
EX-SDI TECHNOLOGY
The EX-SDI (Extended Serial Digital Interface)
is a transmission method to overcome
the transmission distance limitations
of HD-SDI technology.
The HD-SDI signal will be compressed to
270Mb/s instead of up to 2.97Gb/s for an
uncompressed Full HD HD-SDI signal.
This compression is visually almost not
noticable and is executed within less then
100μs, so the advantages of HD-SDI will
be kept up, while the limitation will be
removed.
With EX-SDI you can increase the transmission
distance on an RG59 cable from
100m for an Full HD signal, or 160m for an
HD signal up to 330m with EX-SDI.
With higher quality cable (for example
RG11) you can reach more than 600m
transmission distance instead of 200m.
