It is with <strong>the</strong>se strong qualities that<br />

<strong>Sophie</strong> <strong>Thiébaut</strong> has been involved in<br />

<strong>the</strong> <strong>Southwest</strong> <strong>for</strong> decades,<br />

whe<strong>the</strong>r as a citizen, as a community<br />

organizer or as borough councillor.<br />

As <strong>the</strong> <strong>Southwest</strong> borough<br />

councilor, <strong>Sophie</strong> <strong>Thiébaut</strong> is<br />

known <strong>for</strong> her core values and <strong>for</strong><br />

producing tangible results over <strong>the</strong><br />

course of her two mandates.<br />

concerns of my fellow citizens at <strong>the</strong> heart<br />

Originally from France, a social worker<br />

by training and mo<strong>the</strong>r of a wonderful<br />

daughter, <strong>Sophie</strong> <strong>Thiébaut</strong> moved here<br />

14 years ago and was instantly<br />

attracted to <strong>the</strong> <strong>Southwest</strong> because of<br />

it’s social and cultural diversity, it’s<br />

proud history of social activism, and<br />

it’s fierce community spirit.<br />

process <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong> following sectors:<br />

Lionel Groulx-Atwater, Canada<br />

Malting (West of Saint Henri) and<br />

<strong>the</strong> north of Pointe-Saint-Charles by<br />

<strong>the</strong> end of <strong>the</strong> canal<br />

• Brought door-to-door brown box<br />

organic waste collection to <strong>the</strong><br />

borough<br />

• Financial support <strong>for</strong> <strong>the</strong><br />

registration of Montreal leases<br />

• Following and supporting green<br />

alleyways<br />

• For humane reasons, changing<br />

our animal services provider to<br />

<strong>the</strong> SPCA<br />
