Vor Ihnen liegt der neue Paul´s Model Art
Katalog Edition1/2003.
Auch für das Jahr 2003 haben wir uns
Fahrzeuge als Vorbilder für unsere
Modelle genommen, die bis dato nicht als
Miniaturen auf dem Markt erhältlich
waren. Wie in den vergangenen Jahren
liegt der Schwerpunkt bei Rennsport-
Modellen, jedoch finden Sie auch eine sich
ständig erweiternde Fülle an Straßenfahrzeugen,
sowohl klassischer als auch
moderner Bauart, vor.
Wie das erste Paul´s Model Art Modell, der
Audi V8 quattro, ist der Grossteil der
Miniaturen im internationalen Sammlermaßstab
1/43 gehalten, doch die Auswahl
reicht über die beliebten 1/18 Modelle bis
hin zur Exklusivgrösse 1/8.
In aller Welt sind die Modelle bekannt für
ihre exakte Nachbildung der Karosserieformen
sowie ihrem Detailreichtum.
Mittlerweile entsteht der Grossteil der
Ur-Modelle durch das sogenannte ‘Rapid-
Prototyping’, ein Verfahren, daß ausschliesslich
mit Computer-Oberflächendaten
arbeitet und langsam den
klassischen Gips-Ur-Modellbau ablöst.
Mit aufwendigen Methoden werden im
weiteren Verlauf der Modellherstellung
zuerst die Einbrennlackierung und dann
nacheinander die verschiedenen
Dekorationen aufgebracht; ein Mix aus
Schablonenlackierungen, Tampondrucken
sowie Naßschiebebildern. Dieser Prozess
beläuft sich bereits bei den Modellen im
Maßstab 1/43 auf bis zu einhundert
Arbeitsschritte, Modelle in 1/18 werden
nochmals aufwendiger gefertigt. Am Ende
dieses Vorgangs ist ein Produkt entstanden,
von dem wir wissen, dass es Ihren
Gefallen findet und an dem Sie beim
Betrachten und Sammeln immer wieder
Freude haben.
Aufgrund des positiven Echos haben wir
uns auch dieses Jahr wieder dazu entschlossen,
die mit Katalog Edition 2 1999
begonnene Reihe fortzuführen und Ihnen
zu ausgesuchten Modellen Hintergrundinformationen
sowie zeitgenössisches
Fotomaterial zu präsentieren.
In diesem Sinne wünschen wir auch bei
dieser Ausgabe des Katalogs viel Spaß
beim Durchblättern.

Dear Collector,
in your hands you hold the new Paul’s
Model Art catalogue Edition 1, 2003.
In 2003 as ever, we aim to reproduce
vehicles that have not been available on
the collectors´ market yet and, as in previous
years, we are concentrating on
racing cars. However, you will also find a
steadily increasing range of road car
models, be it of classic as well as modern
designs.
Just like in 1990 the first Paul’s Model Art
model, the Audi V8 quattro, most of the
models are produced in the international
collector’s scale 1:43; however, the selection
ranges from the popular 1:18 models
to the exclusive size of 1:8.
The models are renowned all over the
world for their exact reproduction of the
bodywork shapes and for their host of
details. Nowadays, most of the original
models are produced by so-called ‘rapidprototyping’,
a process which works exclusively
with computer surface data and
which is slowly superseding the classic plaster
original model construction system.
Employing painstaking methods, the further
model production process firstly entails
the enamelling and then the application
of the various decorations one after
the other; a mixture of stencils, pad prints
and wet transfers. This process already
comprises up to one hundred work steps
for the 1:43 scale models; even more work
is required for the 1:18 scale models. At
the end of these operations a product has
been created which we know will meet
with your approval and which will always
give you pleasure in viewing and collecting
the model.
On account of the positive response we
have again decided to continue the series
started with catalogue edition 2, 1999 and
to provide you with background information
and contemporary photo material on
selected models.
Accordingly, we again hope you have
much enjoyment in leafing through this
edition of the catalogue.

Paul’s Model Art Edition 1 2003.
En 2003, et comme tous les ans, nous nous
sommes fixés comme objectif de proposer
aux collectionneurs la plus vaste gamme à
ce jour de voitures miniatures de haute
qualité. L’accent a été mis sur les voitures
de compétition de tous types mais vous
trouverez dans ces pages encore plus de
véhicules routiers, aussi bien anciens que
modernes.
Comme le premier modèle Paul’s Model
Art, la Audi V8 quattro, la majorité des
miniatures présentées est au 1/43ème,
l’échelle internationale des collectionneurs.
Vous trouverez également un grand
choix de miniatures allant du 1/18ème à
l’échelle exclusive 1/8ème.
Dans le monde entier, nos modèles sont
réputés pour leur exactitude, la reproduction
parfaite des lignes de carrosserie ainsi
que la richesse de leurs détails. Leur conception
est effectuée avec le procédé «
Rapid-Prototyping » basé uniquement sur
des données de surface informatiques qui
remplace progressivement les épures en
plâtre réalisées à la main.
D’autres procédés d’avant garde sont mis
en œuvre durant la décoration des modèles
: utilisation de laques cuites au four,
marquages obtenus par sérigraphie, tampographie
ou application de décalcomanies
à l’eau… La fabrication peut comporter
jusqu’à plus de cent opérations
pour une miniature au 1/43ème et bien
plus encore pour un modèle au 1/18ème.
Le résultat de cette production longue et
méticuleuse est un produit que vous
apprécierez, aimerez contempler et ferez
figurer en bonne place dans votre collection.
Soyez assuré que nous faisons tout ce
qu’il faut pour y parvenir.
Suite à vos remarques positives, nous
avons à nouveau décidé de poursuivre la
présentation instaurée dans l’Edition 2 du
catalogue 1999. Vous trouverez donc
encore dans cette présente édition des
informations complémentaires relatives à
certains véhicules et de nombreuses photos
d’époque.

und die Entwicklungsabteilung
angesiedelt. Vom ersten Foto,
über die Urmodellabnahme,
bis hin zum fertigen Produkt wird
die Entstehung der Modelle von
Aachen aus überwacht.
