The Annual General Meeting is a good opportunity to keep you informed
about what has been done over the course of the past year
and become aware of the challenges and events that lie ahead. You’ll
get a financial portrait of your MFRC; you’ll also be allowed to ask
questions and make comments to administrators.

fathers can spend quality time with their children as they talk with

Scientific Activities

scientific method by making them appreciate science through
experiments and games.

Welcome Newborn Baskets
The Newborns’ Program is the way that the MFRC highlights the
arrival of new babies. A lovely team of volunteers makes baskets to
which are then added some little gifts as well as informational tools
that concern early childhood and regional resources which can
support new parents.

the foreseen delivery date.

Second Language Courses (French and English)
These courses target members of military families (spouses, children
and next of kin). Scheduling specification: French classes take place
during the day and English classes are held at night except in case of
strong demand for change.

course if you attend at least 85%

Rosetta Stone is an online program that is provided to develop and
practice a second language. The program offers various levels of learning

SpeakyPlanet - Online Training for Children
SpeakyPlanet is the leading 100% game website to learn English that
is devoted to children. Youths can fully involve themselves, and
parents can thus help them by supporting their desire to learn this

Clientele: military children and stepchildren 7 to 13 years of age.
Priority is granted to children who have difficulty in learning English.

for Youths
These workshops allow youths to learn and improve their
French thanks to amusing and educational activities. Schedule:

This is a casual daycare service that allows children to play and socialize
in a safe environment; it thus allows parents to get a few moments

Before- and after-school childcare is offered from 6:45 to 7:30 a.m.

supervise the children and facilitate activities. Childcare is also offered
on P.D. days.

Social and Family Counsellor
This is specific short- or medium-term service specialized in
behavioural intervention and support offered to parents of children
aged 0 to 12 years. Personalized tools may be created and at-home
services may be offered.

The Social and Family Counsellor offers free workshops aimed at
parents on various themes such as communication, different
intervention techniques, oppositional behaviour, the terrible twos, etc.

Parents and Tots Group
The Parents and Tots group offers a moment to meet during which
parents can spend time with their children as they discuss with other
families. The MFRC’s Social and Family Counsellor will be available
there to listen and talk about parents’ concerns in addition to
organizing certain activities throughout the year.

Parents and Tots Group Workshops
These are workshops facilitated by the Social and Family Counsellor
on various subjects that concern the parents of children 0 to 5 years of
age (temper tantrums, sibling rivalry, oppositional behaviour, etc.).

Teen Town
This is a room reserved for youths 12 to 17 years of age that enables
them to socialize and hold a host of activities (outings, dances, culinary
activities, Sports Nights with PSP, field trips to regional festivals and
much more). Come make new acquaintances and talk with our
facilitators.

Youth Worker
This is a specific short- or medium-term support service offered to 10-
to 17-year-old youths. Come and meet the Youth Worker confidentially
at her office located in Teen Town.

Virtual Counsellor: Online Counselling
This is an online counselling service that targets teenagers 10 to 17
years of age. Youths may ask questions confidentially or confide in the

"Fuzz Buddies" Workshop
This is a reading of the "Fuzz Buddies" allegory to children 3 to 5 years
of age who are experiencing the deployment of a parent. The goal of
this activity is to explain the absence of the parent through playful
themes.

Draco Workshop
Draco is a program for children 5 to 7 years of age who are
experiencing the absence of a parent. We accompany the child
through the various stages of deployment. It is thus possible to meet
other friends who are experiencing the same things.

Deployment Respite Daycare
This service is offered at the MFRC’s Respite Daycare. It allows you to
get a bit of respite for a modest price. Scheduling specification: It is
possible to use this service during the week as well as every other
Saturday with a reservation.

Road to Mental Readiness (R2MR)
The Road to Mental Readiness program was designed to give families
of military members some tools to face the challenges related to
separation and reunion. This fall we are offering the "Frequent
Separation" course.

"FRIENDS" Program
The FRIENDS program allows children 7 to 10 years of age to learn
practical, effective means together to face anxiety, stressful situations
and negative emotions so that they can develop their resilience.
Thanks to varied activities and group workshops, they can share their
experience in a friendly and positive environment.

Community Outreach Worker
This worker makes biopsychosocial support telephone
calls (sympathetic ear, referrals and information) as well as
sending regular or email correspondence to support the
integration of families newly arrived in Bagotville, those who are
experiencing the absence of a military member or those of servicemen
and servicewomen who are released for a medical reason.

"On My Own" Workshop
The goal of this short course is to prepare children from the ages of
10 to 13 years to look after themselves, stay out of harm’s way, deal
with situations that are likely to occur and keep busy in a safe and
constructive manner. To register or get further information, you only

Improve the way that you communicate in your interpersonal
relationships. In cooperation with the Health Promotion office, we
offer you this course meant to help you to acquire new strategies to
improve your ability to manage conflicts, communicate effectively and
promote collaboration.
This isn’t an arbitration, couples’ therapy or intervention-in-case-ofconflict
course.
Clientele: all military and civilian personnel as well as their families
