Welcome to the 34 TH Annual Folsom Street Fair! Maybe 

you’re an experienced attendee, and you know what 

we have in store for you. Or maybe you’re a Folsom 

virgin (yes, they do exist), overwhelmed with anticipation 

and excitement. Or maybe you’ve come to 

San Francisco from a red state, looking for a place to 

truly be yourself. Whoever you are, please know that 

Folsom Street Events, and San Francisco, sees you, 

hears you, and welcomes you with appreciation! 

The current President, and Administration, has made 

this year tough, specifically for marginalized communities. 

We all knew the fight for full equality was 

far from over, but gains had been made. It felt like we 

could exhale, stop looking over our shoulders. That’s 

changed. We have a lot of work ahead of us – which is 

why we are dedicating the 2017 Folsom Street Fair to 

VISABILITY. There is great deal of talk about making 

sure our voices continue to be heard. Equally important, 

is staying visible. Every one of our events will 

give you that opportunity. Whoever you are, whatever 

you’re into stay visible, don’t hide! 

With leather pride banners lining Market Street, SF 

Leather Week begins Sunday, September 17 TH with 

LeatherWalk (www.leatherwalk.org) and continues 

through the week with kinky SoMa bar nights, edgy 

play parties, and much more. Don’t miss the seriously 

epic Magnitude on Saturday, September 23 RD – in the 

venue you’ve all been waiting for: The San Francisco 

Armory. Also not to be missed, DEVIANTS: Adult Arcade, 

immediately following the Fair at Mezzanine. 

The grand finale of SF Leather Week is, of course, 

Folsom Street Fair. We’ll be showcasing BDSM action, 

adult games, and products of all kinds with over 200 

exhibitors. At the 10 TH Street stage, we have amazing 

live acts, including rising star Austra, Folsom favorite 

Little Boots, and electro-pop sensation Black Kids. 

Stop by the Magnitude Dance Area on 11 TH Street at 

Harrison for a legendary surprise DJ set. Into progressive 

house and electronic music? Check out the 

DEVIANTS Dance District at Folsom and 13 TH Street. 

In 2016, thanks to the record-breaking support from 

fairgoers and our sponsors, Folsom Street Events 

donated $331,148 back to local charities. This year, 

we hope to surpass that mark – but we’ll need your 

help to do it. Proceeds from our gate donations, along 

with the profits from our beverage sales, exhibitor

It was that pop devotion that originally propelled 

the Jacksonville, Florida-born band 

to music-press stardom, including receiving 

Pitchfork’s Best New Music for their 2007 

Wizard of Ahhhs EP. The next year saw the 

Columbia Records release of Partie Traumatic 

(which broke the Top 5 in the U.K.) and its 

attendant world tours, festival performances, 

and late-night-TV appearances. Lead single 

“I’m Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To 

Dance With You” soundtracked everything 

from sweaty club nights to blockbuster movies. 

And you still hear it out. 

LITTLE BOOTS (4:10pm-4:50pm) 

Folsom Street Fair favorite, Little Boots, 

otherwise known as Victoria Hesketh, is an 

electronic pop artist, DJ and record label 

founder. Having first emerged in 2008 she 

released her Gold-Selling debut album ‘Hands’ 

the following year, topping the BBC Sound Of 

Poll and Brit Awards Critics Choice Nomination. 

Fusing massive pop hooks onto otherworldly 

electronic soundscapes it showed a pop star 

willing to experiment, and peaked top 5 in the 

UK album chart. 

Freeing herself of the major label machine 

she went on to found her own label On Repeat 

Records and independently released various 

EPs and two more critically acclaimed albums 

- 2013’s ‘Nocturnes’ and last year’s ‘Working 

Girl’, as well as signing and developing further 

promising up and coming British pop artists. 

She continues to tour internationally, both as 

a live performer and DJ. 

AUSTRA (5:10pm – 6:00pm) 

The future won’t look like the past: dystopian 

dread takes this for granted, but utopian imagination 

is just as valid. Future Politics, Austra’s 

third, and most ambitious album to date, calls 

for radical hope: “a commitment to replace the 

approaching dystopia,” says Katie Stelmanis, 

who leads Austra with the support of Maya 

Postepski (Princess Century, TR/ST), Dorian 

Wolf, and Ryan Wonsiak. “Not just hope in the 

future, but the idea that everyone is required to 

help write it, and the boundaries of what it can 

look like are both fascinating and endless. It’s 

not about ‘being political,’ it’s about reaching 

beyond boundaries, in every single field.” 

Future Politics, a collection of urgent, but disciplined 

anthems for dancefloor and headphones, 

asks each of us to remember that apocalypse 

is not an inevitability, but the product of human 

decision-making. It aims for a world without 

borders, where human compassion and curiosity 

drive technological innovation rather than 

profit, where the necessity of labor is replaced 

with time for creativity and personal growth, 

and the terror and destruction wrought by 

colonialism and white supremacy is recognized 

as a dark age in human history.

strokes of sound, traversing the endless palette 

of the human disposition. If that doesn’t make 

any sense then let’s just call him a House DJ 

that likes to stir in some tribal, tech, pop, or anything 

else he feels will move you. Erick throws 

his own party while spinning and is prone to 

jumping around the booth like a f*cking maniac. 

Despite the intimidating spectacle of his booth 

antics, he will always take a moment to talk to 

anyone… as long as he’s not mixing. 

Josh Whitaker (1:00pm-2:30pm) 

Josh Whitaker was born in Los Angeles, California 

and developed a love for house music 

in 2001. He has been Djing and producing for 

10 years and blends a unique twist of house, 

tech and tribal music. In 2014 Josh became the 

Matinee DJ Contest Winner; he has traveled 

from coast to coast in the United States and 

international events DJing at large festivals 

including Winter Party Miami, Matinee Las 

Vegas and San Diego, Sanctuary San Francisco, 

Colossus San Francisco Pride Main Event, Pride 

Festivals around the world and some of the 

most popular clubs around. Josh Whitaker has 

remixed for several well-known record labels 

across the country. He is known for his creativity 

on the turntables and electrifying energy 

while performing. The experience on his dance 

floor is one you will never forget.” 

Dan De Leon (2:30pm-4:00pm) 

Billboard #1 remixer, Dan De Leon, is a powerhouse 

DJ, blending his unique brand of driving 

Tribal rhythms and hard-hitting House to mesmerizing 

effect. His magnetic appeal has taken 

him around the world delivering experiences 

that ignite the senses and leave in it’s wake a 

trail of melodies and memories long after the 

night has ended. Dan De Leon’s debut original 

studio production “SHOW YOU” was signed by 

DJ Chus and released on Stereo Productions 

in 2007. His many productions and remixes 

since then have topped the Billboard Dance 

Chart and have appeared on the world’s best DJ 

compilations including those of the preeminent 

Global Underground and the legendary Tommy 

Boy Records. His remix work includes numerous 

Billboard #1’s, Top 10’s and Top 20’s for Noelia, 

Timbaland, Nelly Furtado, Kristine W and Debby 

Holiday.

Dot has been living in San Francisco for 7 years 

and has been attending Folsom street fair nearly 

every one of those years. As a DJ, she learns 

toward funky dance anthems, disco boogie, 

balanced with classic house and more driving 

techno tracks. Dot is proud to contribute to the 

eclectic fabric (or leather) of San Francisco’s 

nightlife scene. 

Carrie Morrison 12:30pm-1:30pm 

Carrie grew up in the UK and discovered her 

love of house at the tender age of 14 when 

she started attending acid house parties, her 

tastes involved to enjoy house, garage house 

and disco. After moving to London at the age 

of 20 she started her first Dj residency in a bar 

called the friendly society in Soho where she 

held a residency for 5 years warming up the 

London crowds before they went out clubbing. 

After moving to San Francisco in 2010 she has 

continued to play a combination of nu disco, 

classic disco and house at the Stud, Holy Cow, 

Lookout, Eagle, BeatBox, New Parrish and 

Oasis under the moniker CarrieOnDisco. Carrie 

also DJed for various SF institutions such as 

Honey Soundsytem, Something, Hard French, 

Polyglamourous, Go Bang and Pound Puppy. Her 

goal is to bring “JOY” to the dance floor. 

DJ Minx 1:30pm-3:00pm 

DJ Minx was inspired to spin by the famed 

Music Institute in Detroit. Her style is described 

as funky, powerful house, with a splash of 

grace. For two years, Minx engineered and 

hosted “Deep Space Radio,” an electronic music 

show on Detroit’s WGPR radio station. Being 

a featured performer during the first Detroit 

Electronic Music Festival (D.E.M.F.) in May 2000 

had an incredible impact on Minx’s career. 

Since then, she’s played at Tresor in Berlin, 

Output in New York, Toronto’s Film Lounge, Club 

Ohm in Portland, Deep Sugar in Baltimore, and 

Club Air in Japan, and for with massive crowds 

in Paris, Cancun, Switzerland, Spain, Belgium 

and numerous other domestic and international 

locales. 

Josey Rebelle 3:00pm-4:30pm 

Heavyweight selection first and foremost, 

coupled with the skills to seamlessly join the 

dots between house, techno, disco and more, 

it’s a formula that has seen Josey Rebelle gain 

a solid reputation both in her native London and 

across the world. 

As well as DJing at clubs and festivals across 

the UK and internationally, Josey is a regular at 

some of the UK’s most respected nights – including 

Boiler Room (having played at the very 

first official broadcast back in 2010), Nonsense 

and Deviation. She has graced the line ups 

of clubs such as London’s legendary Plastic 

People (where she held down various residencies), 

Fabric, Panorama Bar, De School and 

Nitsa, alongside festivals including Dimensions, 

Outlook and Bestival. 

Jennifer Cardini 4:30pm-6:00pm 

After more than a decade spent building an 

enviable reputation for herself in the clubs 

of Paris, Jennifer Cardini has become an 

international concern. Her infectious charisma 

and versatility behind the decks has led to 

invitations to play at such famed nightspots as 

Panorama Bar, Nitsa, and Fabric, and with her 

creative platform and label Correspondant very 

much on the ascent, her standing as a tastemaker 

is as prominent as ever. If her exquisite 

sets as a resident for Rex Club showed her 

honing in on a notably sophisticated approach, 

it was her weekday slot at avant-garde spot Le 

Pulp that brought her ability to ignite any party 

to the fore, presenting experimental techno, 

narcotic acid cuts, and saturated nu-disco with 

an energy that has made her an icon in electronic 

music culture.
