For over 15 years,
SOL’S has developed
high ethical and
social values and
since 1st June, 2014
is continuing its
efforts with Fair
Wear Foundation
and a commitment to respect and to ensure
in its factories the following standards:
- Employment is freely chosen
- No discrimination in employment
- No exploitation of child labour
- Freedom of association and the right
to collective bargaining
- Payment of a living wage
- Reasonable hours of work
- Safe and healthy working conditions
- A legally binding employment
relationship
By affiliating with Fair Wear Foundation, SOL'S also
commits to make improvements that tend toward social
norms (bring concrete improvements in labor standards
in collaboration with plant managers), based on an action
plan approved by the Fair Wear Foundation. Each year,
SOL'S commits to provide a status report and noted
improvements to Fair Wear Foundation.
Fair Wear Foundation (FWF) is an independent, non-profit
organization that works with companies and factories to improve
labour conditions for garment and textile workers. The Code
of Conduct of Fair Wear Foundation is based on the principles of
the International Labour Organisation and the United Nations.
The 70 member companies represent around 100 brands, and are
based in seven European countries. Production is monitored in
15 countries in Asia, Europe and Africa.
HUMANITARIAN RELIEF
SOL’S has been involved for more than 15 years in helping
the poorest people and has brought help to several NGOs
in Bangladesh. Through its actions SOL’S commits itself for
improvements in the health of the populations and women’s
rights.
Patricia Kerr
Head of the Orphanage
THE SREEPUR ORPHANAGE: Much more than
just an orphanage, a training school.
SOL’S has massively invested in the Sreepur
Orphanage. Only one of its kind in Bangladesh,
it is totally self-sufficient and has integrated
a school and training for 140 women looking
after 450 to 600 little orphans. Since 2009, SOL’S
has financially contributed to the life of the
orphanage and asks both its staff and clients to
give donations in equipment.
The NARI UDDUG KENDRA NGO (NUK):
Constantly improving the health of local
populations.
Also in Bangladesh, SOL’S is committed to a
remarkable operation alongside the Nari Uddug
Kendra NGO (NUK) in the financing of the
Agarasindhur community hospital. The aim of
this project is to improve the health of the women
and children but also to provide a medical service
of quality at a small cost to the local population.
Thanks to this type of action, more and more
people are treated every year.
Alexandre Debanne
Organizer of the Green Tree Raid
GREEN TREE RAID
For the fourth year running, SOL’S takes part in
the Green Tree Raid, supplying contestants and
organizers all the necessary clothes and travel bags.
The only raid exclusively for women.
In total immersion in natural surroundings, no motors for a total
respect of the environment, the 225 contestants take part in a real
adventure only for women. Alongside Alexandre DEBANNE, SOL’S participates and
shares the same ethical values: team spirit, competition, respect of the environment.
The raid’s “human scale” encourages participants to push their limits and discover
themselves through others.
