Consistently eating healthy food is the desired goal to help promote health, but food alone may not provide the total daily<br />

Recommended Dietary Allowances you need for sufficient nutrition. That’s why the combination of a healthy diet, exercise<br />

and taking daily supplements is an effective way to fill in gaps and enhance your overall wellness.<br />

A number of local, state and federal agencies regulate dietary supplements including the Food and Drug Administration<br />

(FDA). The FDA regulates the manufacturing, storage, labeling and logistics of dietary supplements, foods and drugs.<br />

Dietary supplement manufacturers are responsible for ensuring a dietary supplement is safe before it is marketed. The<br />

agency is charged with taking action against any unsafe dietary supplement product after it reaches the market including<br />

products that use ingredients banned by the FDA. In addition, the FTC regulates the advertising of dietary supplements.<br />

Manufacturers and distributors must make sure product label information is truthful and not misleading.<br />

Why are some AdvoCare products formulated with some ingredients at levels above 100% of their<br />

Daily Values (%DV)?<br />

In order to establish a standardized unit of measure consumers could use to understand what percent of a healthy, daily<br />

2,000-calorie diet each nutrient should contribute, the Food and Drug Administration applied the term “Daily Value (%DV).<br />

These %DVs are based on Reference Daily Allowances (RDAs) issued by the Food and Nutrition Board of the Institute of Medicine<br />

to ensure adequate nutritional needs are met for most healthy individuals above age four.<br />

Many health experts, including all AdvoCare Scientific & Medical Advisory Board members, believe that in many cases, optimal<br />

nutrition provides benefits not gained with merely adequate nutrition. For some nutrients, optimal nutrition is achieved at levels<br />

been through in depth reviews by the Institute of Medicine, Center for Disease Control and many national medical organizations,<br />

all of which found their safety profile exemplary. AdvoCare does not use any ingredients deemed unsafe or harmful based on<br />

Tough workouts, high-pressure situations and playmaking<br />

calls are an everyday routine for Drew Brees. The<br />

New Orleans quarterback is far from new to the<br />

professional arena — <strong>2017</strong> marks his 17th year in the<br />

league. Even though he led his team to a Pro Football<br />

World Championship in 2009 and was awarded the MVP<br />

title the same season, Brees’ humility and diligence<br />

haven’t wavered since that pinnacle season. He spends<br />

his free time with his family and running the Brees Dream<br />

Foundation, which he and his wife Brittany established in<br />

2003. The Foundation helps improve the quality of life for<br />

cancer patients and provide care, education and<br />

opportunities for children and families in need.<br />

What does your partnership with AdvoCare mean to<br />

you?<br />

My relationship with AdvoCare goes way beyond being a<br />

National Spokesperson. I think what’s so unique about it<br />

is that I’ve been with AdvoCare for 15 years — that’s nearly<br />

my entire career. It’s gotten better and better every year.<br />

It’s my longest-standing relationship with any corporate<br />

partner and the one I really hang my hat on and value because of our history and growth together.<br />

Also to have watched the business grow and watch the way we change people’s lives, not only<br />

with products but also with the business opportunities we create, has been great.<br />

How have AdvoCare products supported you through the years?<br />

They’ve been a huge confidence boost for me throughout my career — I started taking AdvoCare<br />

products my second year in the league. I felt like I always had an edge on the competition because<br />

of the advantage I was getting through AdvoCare products.<br />

I’ve been really consistent with what AdvoCare products I take. I’ve always taken CorePlex®,<br />

What does it mean to be a team captain, and how would you describe your leadership style?<br />

It’s a tremendous honor and very humbling. It’s also a great responsibility to be chosen as a captain because your<br />

teammates are choosing you to represent them. The greatest leadership style is leading by example: when your<br />

actions speak so loudly, I can’t hear what you’re saying.<br />

I want my car to be the first one the guys see when they drive into the facility, and I want my car to still be there<br />

when they leave at the end of the day so they know I am putting in the time and effort needed to help them be<br />

successful.<br />

One of the best things you can do is to let your guys know how<br />

much you care about them and how much you want to see them<br />

succeed.<br />

Do you have a standout moment in your career?<br />

There are so many, but nothing will take the cake like winning<br />

the Championship and having my wife and my one-year-old son,<br />

Baylen, with me on the trophy stand. The culmination of those<br />

last four years in New Orleans, building up to that Championship,<br />

was just a magical ride.<br />

Do you have any game day traditions or rituals?<br />

I am such a routine-oriented guy. From the time I get up to what<br />

I eat for breakfast, the route to the stadium, what I do the<br />

moment I walk in the locker room - it’s a blue print that comes<br />

down to the second. By the time the game rolls around, I know<br />

I’ve basically checked the box on everything I had to do to<br />

prepare myself to play great that day. It gives me a ton of<br />

confidence.<br />

Also, we started a pre-game chant almost ten years ago. When<br />

the whole team comes out and we’re getting ready for pre-game,<br />

I get in the huddle and get the guys hyped up. Each year we<br />

come up with a new chant that gets us ready to play. It’s<br />

something that unites us.<br />

Whether you’re mowing the lawn, running a few miles, getting in a strenuous workout or playing a professional sport, hydration<br />

– especially during the summer months – can impact your body more than you might realize.<br />

It wasn’t about wearing her dream size or seeing a certain number on the scale. For Kai Ingram, she just wanted to<br />

be able to hold her newborn son on her lap. At 415 pounds, everyday tasks that seemed small to others had become<br />

impossible for the 34-year-old mother. The first seven months after she and her husband, Joey, brought home their<br />

baby, Kai says she “parented from the couch.” She knew she needed to lose weight and tried other diets in the past but<br />

wasn’t able to sustain them, causing her to fail time after time.<br />

Feeling better than ever, Kai decided to train for a 5K. Although she thought it would never happen, Kai had set a<br />

goal to one day run a race at Disney World® after seeing a group of runners with their finisher’s medals during a family<br />

vacation in 2010. Six years later, she proudly received her own medal after completing a half marathon and a 10K within<br />

two days, and plans to run another Disney World® race which includes a 5K, 10K, half and full marathon, within four<br />

consecutive days next year.<br />

Joey waited a year to work out, but once he started, he discovered a love for obstacle course races because they<br />

reminded him of the 13 years he served in the military. After convincing Kai to join him, the energized couple started<br />

Exceeding her Goal<br />

At 230 pounds, seeing a number less than 200 on the scale seemed like a daunting task for<br />

Ashley Hopkins. But as she began to see success, she was determined to meet and exceed that<br />

Walking the Walk<br />

Finding a weight-loss regimen that worked for her lifestyle was harder than she imagined. In<br />

between raising four kids and working full time, Cynthia Buentello had gained a little unwanted<br />

weight. Instead of the size five she was used to wearing, she was struggling to get into a size<br />

seven, and didn’t have enough energy to get through the day.<br />

Once the Buentellos completed their first Challenge, they loved how they felt so they continued<br />

Five years ago, James Keys was constantly working 12-hour days on the road and didn’t focus<br />

Although he didn’t have a set number of pounds to lose, James made a goal to feel better and be<br />

It’s not too often that you meet a woman who, at 57 years old, earned her black belt in taekwondo.<br />

For Anne Cuellar, it wasn’t even a possibility until AdvoCare entered her life in 2009. “I considered<br />

myself healthy and active, but in reality I was dragging.”<br />

Tired of her everyday boring workouts, Anne’s friend mentioned taekwondo. Though she was<br />

uncomfortable and the sport was difficult, she kept coming back. After earning her colored belts<br />

and seeing advancement, Anne decided to aim for a black belt, the highest belt color used in<br />

taekwondo. Near the same time, in late 2009, Anne’s daughter-in-law gave her a Spark®. “I felt<br />

don’t pass. “It’s really about endurance. For two to three months before, you’re conditioning and<br />

training, working out every day. And that’s where AdvoCare came in,” Anne explains. “Without<br />

Living near San Francisco has plenty of benefits: beautiful views, a<br />

colorful culture and plenty of fresh seafood. Breanna and Brian Morin<br />

and their three kids have lived close to the City by the Bay for years, but<br />

never considered how a few disadvantages like the traffic and high cost<br />

of living could be a challenge for their future endeavor with AdvoCare.<br />

They found AdvoCare in the summer of 2013, when they were working<br />

full-time corporate positions and looking for a weight-management<br />

solution. The couple spent the next year focused on improving their<br />

nutrition, fitness and supplementation. Both Breanna and Brian hit their<br />

goal weights and focused on becoming more active.<br />

Even though they knew about AdvoCare’s business opportunity, the<br />

Morins enjoyed their corporate jobs and didn’t need or want additional<br />

income. But when they began travelling more for their daughter’s<br />

income for Rodell Razor turned into a chance to meet new people and<br />

eventually, meet his future wife. Rodell first heard about AdvoCare in<br />

January of 2014 in Oregon, and tried the products to help support his<br />

workouts. After changing his lifestyle and focusing on eating better, he<br />

successfully lost inches in his waist and continued using products.<br />

Nine months later, he was planning on moving to Phoenix to be closer<br />

to his son. But after his job transfer fell through, Rodell wasn’t sure what<br />

Once in Phoenix, the dedicated father began selling AdvoCare products<br />

That’s how he met Brittany in May of 2015. He shared a Spark with her<br />

While Brittany started her own AdvoCare team, she and Rodell began<br />

Eleven months later, Rodell and Brittany were married. Brittany left her<br />

With two careers in the medical field, Kari and Matt Blackburn spent long<br />

hours at work and hardly saw each other at home. Kari was an Emergency<br />

Room nurse and her husband, Matt, worked as an ER medical technician.<br />

She also worked as a nursing clinical instructor, audited charts from<br />

home and was going to school to become a pediatric nurse practitioner.<br />

with your family, because<br />

talking about them as<br />

though attaining those<br />

goals are inevitable,<br />

empowers us, and – in<br />

turn – helps us become<br />

the kind of person<br />

it takes to make our<br />

goals and dreams a reality.<br />

Achieving a goal is not easy.<br />

I could write a book about<br />

people who had a dream and<br />

in spite of their station in life,<br />

pursued that dream and made<br />

Father Daughter Time<br />

For Mike Moran, AdvoCare became more than a way to gain<br />

energy and lose weight. It became the solution for him to see<br />

his daughter more.<br />

Mike’s 15-year old daughter lives 1,000 miles away with her mom,<br />

and before AdvoCare, Mike was making a 12 to 14 hour drive<br />

each month to visit her. “I started taking AdvoCare products<br />

because I wanted to change my diet and lifestyle. I dropped<br />

weight and felt amazing and realized this could be a way to<br />

make additional income to visit my daughter more,” Mike says.<br />

The correctional lieutenant was working more than 40 hours<br />

Through AdvoCare, Jason and Brooke Roberts have gained better health and nutrition habits and, most importantly, income for<br />

A Ring of Importance<br />

A senior ring for their oldest son – that’s why Dusty and Alan Morris started their AdvoCare business. “When AdvoCare was<br />

introduced to us we had our monthly expenses covered, but we didn’t have money for anything extra. We saw AdvoCare as a<br />

way we could possibly earn more income,” Dusty says.<br />

Dollars For Daycare<br />

Lauren Pupa was a single mom looking to make additional income when she found AdvoCare. “I was always worried about how<br />

I was going to make ends meet and felt like I was behind,” she says.<br />

In September 2015, just six months after her daughter was born, a friend shared AdvoCare with her. Lauren started a 24-Day<br />

Challenge® and had success. That’s when her friends and family began to notice her results and boost of confidence. She<br />

Josh and Rachel Witt were looking for a way to earn extra<br />

income to chip away at their taxes and mounting medical debt.<br />

Rachel was new to being a stay-at-home mom, and Josh was<br />

a full-time youth minister. That’s when they were introduced<br />

to AdvoCare.<br />

“I was working out and not losing weight. We also had a really<br />

big need, financially, for supplemental income,” Rachel says.<br />

After completing a 24-Day Challenge® and continuing to take<br />

AdvoCare products and live a healthier lifestyle, she lost two<br />

pants sizes. Rachel says she felt so good that, within a few<br />

days, she knew she could easily share AdvoCare with friends<br />

and family.<br />

Rachel became an AdvoCare Distributor, dedicated to working<br />

her AdvoCare business by herself, while Josh continued<br />

working his full-time job. Though the couple experienced<br />

challenges along the way, they kept stepping forward. “It hasn’t<br />

been easy. When Rachel was doing our AdvoCare business<br />

alone and I was committed to ministry, there were times I had<br />

to be away, and we needed help with childcare. But we kept<br />

going and kept working,” Josh explains.<br />

“There were many days where Rachel would hold Mixers while<br />

I watched the kids. We juggled our schedules but plowed<br />

through any difficulties, because we were confident of what<br />

AdvoCare could be for our family and other families.”<br />

As she continued working her business, her team began to<br />

grow. “We built our business by making a list of everyone we<br />

knew and then shared AdvoCare with them. We had a weekly<br />

Mixer in our home, and that has been the best way to meet<br />

people and connect with them right away. We also stay in<br />

close contact with our team. Friendships help strengthen the<br />

business relationships and help better pair product regimens<br />

to unique goals,” Rachel says.<br />

Consistency has been the key for the couple. Today Rachel and<br />

Josh are continuing to hold weekly Mixers and make multiple<br />

calls a day to strengthen their business. “Be ridiculously<br />

consistent with the AdvoCare Success System, and show up<br />

to events,” Rachel shares.<br />

Four years later, the Witts have paid down debt and continue<br />

to work AdvoCare together, using their story and leadership<br />

“We tell everyone the first thing you have to do is find your<br />

purpose. In the beginning, our purpose was to help pay down<br />

our medical debt. Rachel could never look at me and say<br />

AdvoCare was hard so she had to quit, because our purpose<br />

was so strong,” Josh says. “Make your purpose so big that you<br />

won’t quit during challenges.”<br />

Rachel adds, “AdvoCare is about the pursuit of becoming more,<br />

helping others become better moms and dads, spouses and<br />

leaders, and we want to continue moving this vision forward<br />

Seventeen years ago, Kimberly and Michael Smith signed up as<br />

AdvoCare Distributors to not only live a healthier lifestyle but<br />

to also earn extra money. Kimberly was a stay-at-home mom<br />

and Michael worked at an insurance company. In the beginning,<br />

they shared how AdvoCare helped them lose weight and feel<br />

better with friends and family, dedicating a total of 30 hours a<br />

week on building their business and selling products.<br />

“Those first three months, Michael and I used Impact <strong>Magazine</strong>s<br />

to share AdvoCare with others. We were talking about<br />

AdvoCare with 10 people a day,” says Kimberly. “I would call<br />

past co-workers and people I went to high school with (it was<br />

way out of my comfort zone) while the kids were taking a nap.”<br />

Their first year, they sold enough AdvoCare products and<br />

built a team who also sold products to earn additional income.<br />

The earnest young couple continued to build momentum and<br />

significantly increased their income over the next two years.<br />

However, over time, the Smiths became overzealous with their<br />

newfound income and inconsistently worked their business,<br />

spending only about 15 hours each week on AdvoCare. They<br />

began to lose sight of their responsibilities, which caused their<br />

earnings to decline.<br />

“We fell into the trap that a lot of people do who aren’t used<br />

to making money. We made some very foolish decisions. Our<br />

income ended up going down between 2003 and 2006,”<br />

Michael admits.<br />

By 2006, he had picked up odd jobs to make ends meet. During<br />

that time, they made sure to attend every AdvoCare event.<br />

Michael began to evaluate what they could do to strengthen<br />

their business and be the leaders he knew they could be.<br />

A pivotal moment on the road in 2009, while Michael was away<br />

on business, pushed him into action.<br />

“I decided we’re either going to build a sustainable AdvoCare<br />

business or we’re going to do something else,” he says.<br />

That turning point helped the couple work, once again, on<br />

building their team from the ground up. After working 40 to<br />

50 hours a week on AdvoCare for a year, focusing on selfimprovement<br />

and learning many humbling lessons, the Smiths<br />

sold products, coached a new group of leaders and finally<br />

started seeing success.<br />

Though it took them 10 years to achieve the Diamond level, the<br />

Smiths say their integrity, faith and dedication never wavered.<br />

“This business will test you like nothing else. AdvoCare is a<br />

process,” Michael says. “The only time the process fails is when<br />

we quit.”<br />

The Smiths made sure they were always available for their team<br />

and consistently mentored and encouraged team members to<br />

stay focused on their goals. With persistence and dedication,<br />

they steadily increased their income throughout the next year.<br />

People become AdvoCare Independent Distributors for a number of reasons including the opportunity to purchase<br />

products at a discounted price to consume themselves, to sell products directly to others and receive profits, or to<br />

build a business and coach a team of Distributors on how to sell products.<br />

Distributors may earn compensation from AdvoCare on sales to registered retail customers and Preferred<br />

Customers who order through the AdvoCare website, as well as from downline Distributors (“Commissions”).<br />

Distributors at the Advisor level may earn additional compensation from AdvoCare based on the buying and selling<br />

activities of downline Distributors (“Overrides” and “Leadership Bonuses”). Distributors who qualify for the Advisor<br />

level are also eligible to earn bonuses or incentives for their selling activities and the selling activities of their<br />

downline. For example, in 2016, 1,670 Distributors at the Advisor level earned a $500 Rookie Bonus.<br />

The Annual Income Ranges chart provides the compensation earned in 2016 by Distributors (Commissions,<br />

Overrides and Leadership Bonuses). Not included in these figures are the potential profits Distributors receive from<br />

selling products in person to retail customers, bonuses and incentives earned, or the expenses of engaging in or<br />

AdvoCare’s Compensation Plan provides qualification criteria for product discounts and pin levels that indicate<br />

advancement in business building and buying and selling activities (see AdvoCare Policies, Procedures, and<br />

Compensation Plan). Distributors have the ability to earn compensation from AdvoCare for their selling activities<br />

each Pay Period, a total of 24 Pay Periods during a calendar year. Of course, not every Distributor chooses to be<br />

Active or sustain the same level of activity every Pay Period, so income may vary over time. The Pay Period Income<br />

chart represents Pay Period income paid at that discount level or pin level (“Pay Level”) in 2016. The figures show<br />

the average top and bottom 10 percent and the median, the middle value when all checks are placed in lowest to<br />

highest order, at each Pay Level. In 2016, a total of 1,197,855 checks were earned by 157,905 Active Distributors.<br />

AdvoCare pays no compensation for recruiting new Distributors. Instead, compensation is based upon product<br />

sales, which varies based upon a number of factors, including how effectively Distributors exercise key traits like<br />

diligence, leadership, time and effort in selling products. There is no guarantee of success or a short cut to success.<br />

Distributors establish their own working hours, conduct the day-to-day business, determine and pay for their own<br />

Lo que comenzó como una forma de vivir un estilo de vida más saludable<br />

y obtener ingresos adicionales para Rodell Razor, se convirtió en la<br />

oportunidad de conocer nuevas personas y eventualmente a su futura<br />

esposa. La primera vez que Rodell escuchó de AdvoCare y probó los<br />

productos como un apoyo a su plan de ejercicios fue en enero del<br />

2014 en Oregon. Después de cambiar su estilo de vida y concentrarse<br />

en alimentarse mejor, rebajó varias pulgadas de la cintura y continuó<br />
