T he Middle School The Middle School is an amazing place where girls and boys embrace their individuality, cultivate their self-confidence, and discover the one-in-a-zillion talents and gifts that make them them. Our students are inquisitive, eager, collaborative, and accepting. Our girls and boys strive not only for success in academic pursuits, but for happiness and fulfillment in their lives, too. Wondering, exploring, learning, persevering, achieving, and triumphing are all part of a student’s journey, and these things happen here, every day. The Middle School’s curriculum is responsive and adaptive to the needs and talents of each student, as well as our own rapidly evolving understanding of how children’s brains work and how they learn best. We leverage an integrated, sequential Essential Questioning (EQ) model for academic and character growth. Each grade has an Essential Question and they build sequentially from grade-to-grade. These EQ's are infused across disciplines and within the Advisory Program for the duration of the school year. Additionally, we use online learning platforms to enable interactive and peer-to-peer learning outside our classrooms and beyond the school day. With open minds and open hearts, our students leave The Middle School as confident, poised, and empathetic independent thinkers ready for the diverse demands of high school.
