European Language Week<br />
We wish to say a big thank you for all the effort<br />
you put into making our European Languages<br />
Week, and in particular, our Dress Up Day such a<br />
success.<br />
Our first formal consultations for this year will<br />
take place from Monday 23 - Thursday 26<br />
<strong>October</strong>. Please note that school will finish for all<br />
P1-P7 pupils at 1.10pm each day this week,<br />
including Friday. You should have received your<br />
letter to specify your preferred days for<br />
consultations. We would request that you return<br />
these by Friday 6 <strong>October</strong>. Invitations to the<br />
consultations will be sent home on the 16th<br />
<strong>October</strong>. Nursery Consultations will be on the<br />
24 & 25 <strong>October</strong>.<br />
ARK Programme<br />
Thank you to all the P1 parents who supported<br />
our ARK Programme this year, which highlighted<br />
the curriculum targets for learning in P1. This year,<br />
we focused on the physical and social<br />
development of our pupils as well as<br />
communication, language and mathematical<br />
Raffy’s Thought for the Month:<br />

Treat others the way you want to be treated.

At our PTA Annual General Meeting on Monday<br />
11th September, the parent body elected their<br />
PTA Committee for <strong>2017</strong>/2018.<br />

The Family Photograph Night will take place on<br />
Thursday 09 November (5-7pm). A £5 deposit<br />
will be requested per session. A letter will be<br />
issued before half term, outlining how you can<br />
book yourself a slot.<br />
If you have any unwanted clothes you wish to<br />
get rid of, the PTA have organised a Clothing<br />
Collection on Thursday 12 <strong>October</strong> with ‘Cash<br />
for Clobber’. Bags will be available to collect from<br />
the front foyer.<br />
PTA Movie Night<br />
The PTA are holding a Movie Night in the school<br />
assembly hall on Thursday 26 <strong>October</strong>. Like<br />
before, there will be two sittings:<br />
• P1-P3 - Shrek Halloween (6.00-6.45pm)<br />
• P4-P7 - Hotel Transylvania 2 (7.00-8.30pm)<br />
Doors will open from 5.45pm for our younger<br />
children. This year, there will not be a tuck shop.<br />
Instead, popcorn, a drink and sweets will be<br />
included in the ticket price (£2.50 for P1-P3 and<br />
£3.50 for P4-P7).<br />
Harvest Celebration<br />
This year’s P3 Harvest Assemblies will be held on<br />
Wednesday 18 and Friday 20 <strong>October</strong> at<br />
9.30am. Tickets are now available to P3 parents.<br />
Our collection this year will go to support the<br />
work of Storehouse North<br />
Down.<br />

contributions of jars, tins, prepacked<br />
food and long-life milk<br />
for distribution after the<br />
assembly. Please lea ve<br />
contributions into school on<br />
Monday 16 <strong>October</strong>.<br />
Thank you for your ongoing<br />
support in our charity work.<br />
After School Clubs<br />
Our first term of After School Clubs start this<br />
week. We remind you that if your child is not<br />
able to attend their club, that you inform the<br />
teacher in charge of the activity. That way, we<br />
can ensure that all children are present and<br />
correct.<br />
School Fund<br />
This year, the PTA are making use of the ‘Local<br />
Giving’ funding website to collect school fund. A<br />
note will be issued next week explaining what<br />
this fund supports and how you can pay your<br />
donation this year.<br />
Half Term Holiday<br />
School will close on Friday 27 <strong>October</strong> at<br />
1.10pm for the half term holiday. School will<br />
commence again on Monday 06 November at<br />
9.00am.<br />
