WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT
As President of the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) it is my
pleasure to welcome you to the ISRRT Board of Management. As an elected member of this Board each one of
us plays an integral role in the various portfolios entrusted to us.
We are all charged with carrying out the work of the ISRRT. In keeping with our Vision we strive «to be the
leading international organization representing the practice of medical imaging and radiation therapy
technology by promoting the highest achievable standards of patient care and professional practice».
We strive to maintain the ISRRT as the voice of radiation medicine technology throughout the world.
Dr. Sandy Yule, our CEO, adds his welcome to you as a Board member and as a vital member of the leadership
team.
Alain Cromp, Director of Public Relations, has kindly put together some information and a list of documents
(below) for you to review.

To improve the standards of delivery and practice of medical imaging and
radiation therapy throughout the world by acting as the international liaison organization for
medical radiation technology and by promoting Quality Patient Care, Education and
Research in the radiation medicine sciences.

To be the leading international organization representing the practice of medical imaging and
radiation therapy technology by promoting the highest achievable standards of
patient care and professional practice.

To advance the science and practice of radiography and allied subjects by the promotion of
improved standards of education and of research in the technical aspects of

To create and hold funds which shall be available for furthering the objects of the society
whilst at the same time being a charitable organization.
To do all such other lawful things as shall become necessary for the attainment of the
foregoing objects.

BOARD MEMBER REPRESENTATION
As a Board member you are expected to, depending on the position held, attend various other meetings at the
request of and after the approval of the President. When a Board member attends specific meetings then the
ISRRT is responsible for :
1) Travel costs
It is expected that the most economic airfares will be sourced taking into account distance and time
factors.
2) Accommodation

The Board member should book suitable accommodation relatively close to the meeting venue.
In the event of a Board meeting, the CEO usually books the accommodation. The Board member
is usually allowed accommodation one night prior to the meeting unless they actually cross 6
time zones or more were 2 nights prior to the meeting is acceptable.
An allowance of £ 100(UK) per day is allocated usually to cover accommodation and meal costs.
However one may claim for taxi fares.
Receipts must accompany all claims.
RESPONSABILITIES OF THE BOARD MEMBER

Respond to correspondence promptly.
Must be familiar with the «Operational Manual».
Actively participate in discussions.
Provide a report on meeting attended on the «ISRRT Activity / Conference Report Form» this must be
sent to the CEO within 2 weeks of the activity.
Submit a report related to their portfolio to the CEO when the CEO requests agenda items for the Board
meeting.
It will be in your interest to keep checking the ISRRT Website (www.isrrt.org) as this is constantly updated.
