WELCOME FROM THE PRESIDENT<br />
As President of the International Society of Radiographers and Radiological Technologists (ISRRT) it is my<br />
pleasure to welcome you to the ISRRT <strong>Board</strong> of Management. As an elected member of this <strong>Board</strong> each one of<br />
us plays an integral role in the various portfolios entrusted to us.<br />
We are all charged with carrying out the work of the ISRRT. In keeping with our Vision we strive «to be the<br />
leading international organization representing the practice of medical imaging and radiation therapy<br />
technology by promoting the highest achievable standards of patient care and professional practice».<br />
We strive to maintain the ISRRT as the voice of radiation medicine technology throughout the world.<br />
Dr. Sandy Yule, our CEO, adds his welcome to you as a <strong>Board</strong> member and as a vital member of the leadership<br />
team.<br />
Alain Cromp, Director of Public Relations, has kindly put together some information and a list of documents<br />
(below) for you to review.<br />

M I S S I O N<br />
To improve the standards of delivery and practice of medical imaging and<br />
radiation therapy throughout the world by acting as the international liaison organization for<br />
medical radiation technology and by promoting Quality Patient Care, Education and<br />
Research in the radiation medicine sciences.<br />

To be the leading international organization representing the practice of medical imaging and<br />
radiation therapy technology by promoting the highest achievable standards of<br />
patient care and professional practice.<br />

O B J E C T I V E S<br />
To advance the science and practice of radiography and allied subjects by the promotion of<br />
improved standards of education and of research in the technical aspects of<br />
radiation medicine and radiation protection.<br />
To make the results of research and experience in radiation medicine and<br />
radiation protection available to practitioners throughout the world.<br />
To create and hold funds which shall be available for furthering the objects of the society<br />
whilst at the same time being a charitable organization.<br />
To do all such other lawful things as shall become necessary for the attainment of the<br />
foregoing objects.<br />

BOARD MEMBER REPRESENTATION<br />
As a <strong>Board</strong> member you are expected to, depending on the position held, attend various other meetings at the<br />
request of and after the approval of the President. When a <strong>Board</strong> member attends specific meetings then the<br />
ISRRT is responsible for :<br />
1) Travel costs<br />
It is expected that the most economic airfares will be sourced taking into account distance and time<br />
factors.<br />
2) Accommodation<br />

The <strong>Board</strong> member should book suitable accommodation relatively close to the meeting venue.<br />
In the event of a <strong>Board</strong> meeting, the CEO usually books the accommodation. The <strong>Board</strong> member<br />
is usually allowed accommodation one night prior to the meeting unless they actually cross 6<br />
time zones or more were 2 nights prior to the meeting is acceptable.<br />
An allowance of £ 100(UK) per day is allocated usually to cover accommodation and meal costs.<br />
However one may claim for taxi fares.<br />
Receipts must accompany all claims.<br />

Respond to correspondence promptly.<br />
Must be familiar with the «Operational Manual».<br />
Actively participate in discussions.<br />
Provide a report on meeting attended on the «ISRRT Activity / Conference Report Form» this must be<br />
sent to the CEO within 2 weeks of the activity.<br />
Submit a report related to their portfolio to the CEO when the CEO requests agenda items for the <strong>Board</strong><br />
meeting.<br />
It will be in your interest to keep checking the ISRRT Website (www.isrrt.org) as this is constantly updated.<br />
