Established in 2006 as the first four-year, public college created
in the U.S. in the 21st century, Georgia Gwinnett College
continues to make history. Georgia Gwinnett is the #10 top
public school in the Southern region (U.S. News & World Report),
the most ethnically diverse Southern regional college and ranks
second in the Southern region for the lowest graduate debt.
The college’s growth in its first decade has been dramatic –
enrollment now tops 12,000 students who can choose from
16 majors and more than 40 concentrations. However, average
class size remains small, 21 students on average, the student to
faculty ratio is 18:1.
Georgia Gwinnett celebrates its standing as a “different kind
of four-year college” – with a strong mentoring program, a focus
on technology, an incredibly diverse student body (100 nations
and 30 states represented) and a mission to provide access to
all students. The college has over 120 student organizations
and a fast-growing athletic program that has already earned
national and conference championships.
