prevented us from listing it before, despite having been repeatedly<br />
seduced by its vibrant intensity. Of course, it would star on any<br />
table, but you can also sip it by the fire on a cold night. A warming<br />

GUEST WINE Nebbiolo derives from the Italian word for fog,<br />
so the winemakers from Alpha Box & Dice are perhaps not as<br />
unconventional as they think they are! Certainly, the label is<br />
“cutting-edge”, but the wine itself is more akin to a top-class<br />
Barolo, with aromas of tobacco and rose petals, and flavours of<br />
Turkish Delight and sandalwood. Thinking about it, every year we<br />
spend hours trying Barolos that are as eye-wateringly expensive as<br />
they are immature. So, to be able to produce a Nebbiolo that good<br />
at that price, then maybe you need to be a little eccentric… One<br />
for the Christmas table.<br />
