Calculate exactly with surds
Simplify surd expressions
Change recurring decimals into
fractions
Unit 2 – Algebra Use and interpret algebraic notation
Simplify and manipulate algebraic
expressions
Expand products of two or more
binomials
Interpret the revers process as the
inverse function
Interpret the succession of two
functions as a composite function
Sketch translations and reflections
of a given function
Calculate or estimate gradients of
graphs
Find approximate solutions to
equations numerically using iteration
Unit 3 – Ration, proportion and rates if
change
Change freely between related
standard units
Construct and interpret equations
that describe direct and inverse
proportion
Interpret the gradient of a point on
a curve as the instantaneous rate of
change
Apply the concepts of average and
instantaneous rate of change
