For the current and upcoming year of 2017-2018, I got the<br />
privilege to become the Director of Content Management under<br />
the Conference Portfolio at Western's Marketing Association.<br />
Some of my responsibilities entails: help lead the annual<br />
magazine publication, developing the case competition and<br />
script content for our Annual Event, developing social media<br />
marketing strategies and establishing connections with industry<br />
experts to secure sponsorship for the Magazine and our Event.<br />
WMA first started at Western in 2015, won best new club the<br />
following year and quickly grew to being the top third business<br />
club at Western. There is a huge potential for growth for us,<br />
and that is our main goal.<br />
I was first drawn to this club for<br />
having an overall focus on<br />
Marketing - a field of interest<br />
for myself. Last year, I joined<br />
the top business club at Western<br />
as a general member. At this<br />
time, I was in BSc in General<br />
Sciences and I kept my interest<br />
in business open with other<br />
activities. The organization,<br />
strength and opportunities the<br />
club gave to the students was<br />
awesome. Unfortunately, I felt a<br />
heavy Finance and Consulting<br />
influence which wasn't my forte<br />
nor of personal interest.<br />
After first semester, I made my<br />
official switch from the sciences<br />
into business, going for the<br />
BMOS program specializing in<br />
Consumer Behaviorism. Excited<br />
about taking a step closer to<br />
what I actually love and enjoy, I<br />
took the rest of the year to see<br />
what field of business spoke to<br />
me through different work<br />
experiences and networking.<br />
