For the current and upcoming year of 2017-2018, I got the
privilege to become the Director of Content Management under
the Conference Portfolio at Western's Marketing Association.
Some of my responsibilities entails: help lead the annual
magazine publication, developing the case competition and
script content for our Annual Event, developing social media
marketing strategies and establishing connections with industry
experts to secure sponsorship for the Magazine and our Event.
WMA first started at Western in 2015, won best new club the
following year and quickly grew to being the top third business
club at Western. There is a huge potential for growth for us,
and that is our main goal.
I was first drawn to this club for
having an overall focus on
Marketing - a field of interest
for myself. Last year, I joined
the top business club at Western
as a general member. At this
time, I was in BSc in General
Sciences and I kept my interest
in business open with other
activities. The organization,
strength and opportunities the
club gave to the students was
awesome. Unfortunately, I felt a
heavy Finance and Consulting
influence which wasn't my forte
nor of personal interest.
After first semester, I made my
official switch from the sciences
into business, going for the
BMOS program specializing in
Consumer Behaviorism. Excited
about taking a step closer to
what I actually love and enjoy, I
took the rest of the year to see
what field of business spoke to
me through different work
experiences and networking.
