» Founded in 2009, Deutsche ACCUMOTIVE GmbH & Co. KG is a wholly-owned subsidiary
of Daimler AG and serves as the competence center for the development and global
production of lithium-ion batteries.
» The research and development facility is located in Nabern in the greater Stuttgart area.
The batteries are produced in Kamenz near Dresden. The company produces highly sophisticated
drive batteries for hybrid and electric vehicles.
» In October 2016, construction of a second battery factory began in Kamenz.
» In the future, the Kamenz plant will manufacture batteries for electric vehicles from
Mercedes-Benz and smart – ranging from plug-in hybrids to all-electric models and
48-volt battery systems for on-board networks.
» The company is also responsible for producing batteries for the stationary
Mercedes-Benz energy storage units.
» ACCUMOTIVE cooperates very closely with its sister company, Mercedes-Benz Energy
GmbH, which is responsible for the development and global distribution of stationary and

car generation (B‐Class, CLA, and CLA Shooting Brake) on a single assembly line.
» Kecskemét produces the CLA and the CLA Shooting Brake exclusively for the global

» The Kecskemét plant will also produce the next generation of compact cars in cooperation
with the lead plant in Rastatt.
» The plant is the biggest industrial employer in the region.
» The facility was opened in March 2012 as the first Mercedes-Benz car plant in Europe
outside Germany.
» By the end of the decade, Daimler will build a second plant in Kecskemét for the flexible
production of cars with front-wheel and rear-wheel drives.
