During the preparation of Communion, Steve
said that there are over a billion people who
recognise Jesus as King and when we went up
to receive the Bread and Wine, he suggested
that we might like to bow before the empty
chair - which represented the throne of
God – to acknowledge His presence with us.
It was very humbling to do this and to see
everyone bowing - it really put Christ in His
rightful place.
We finished with Graham Kendrick’s rousing
song, ‘The Lord is Marching out in splendour’
(O give thanks to the Lord for His love endures),
after which Stephen played an Israeli song, to
which many folk got up and danced in a circle
around the altar. I don’t think anyone wanted
the service to end; we were truly soaking in
the Lord’s presence.
A Ploughman’s lunch was provided and we all
shared a lovely time of fellowship in the dining
room before departing and leaving the Prayer
Partners to continue with their weekend!
