Living in Anuradhapura
Home to more than 50 ancient Buddhist temples, shrines,
and stupas, the sacred city of Anuradhapura truly deserves
its title of UNESCO World Heritage Site. Expect bustling
markets, restaurants, bars, and colourful festivals. Taking
a hot air balloon ride over the jungle canopy is also highly
recommended. For those seeking tranquillity, venture to the
unspoiled, white sand beaches at Trincomalee.

Living in Kandy
Our central base in Kandy is only a short distance from the
centre of the main city and enjoys stunning views overlooking
Kandy Lake and the surrounding hills, whilst also close to a
number of bars, restaurants, and markets. If you’re keen to
explore you’ll find adventures aplenty. Go on safari to spot
wildlife, roam through expansive tea plantations or visit Sigiriya,
referred to by locals as the Eighth Wonder of the World.

week-long Ayurvedic experience and you’ll live in a small rural

Clinical Experience
Most women in Anuradhapura give birth with no pain relief,
as medication costs are prohibitive. Our partner hospital
is comprised of Antenatal, Postnatal, Gynaecological, and
C-Section wards. Birthing complications are common here,
some of which may be unfamiliar to you.
The OBG Department in our partner hospital will give you
unparalleled insight into cultural differences surrounding
birthing. C-sections are commonplace, making up around
40% of all births. This placement is incredibly diverse,
delivering invaluable experiences.
