CONCEPT
CONCEPT: The present colony
lacks the basic requirements
for the work space, community
spaces, as well as market that is
required to improve their economy.
Thus the main aim was to
improve the living conditions of
the people by providing them
such spaces and bring in more
tourism so as to improve the
conditions of Bhagalpur silk.
SITE ZONING
STEP 1: Creating clusters with courtyard at the
center.the clusters were arranged in a way to have
roads accessibility on all sides of the clusters.
The entries for each block was kept at the center.
STEP 3: Then clusters were divided
and spread to create an
open space for their work.
EVOLUTION
STEP 2: The clusters were broken into smaller sizes
inorder to create better shared community spaces
and to reduce the number of houses in each cluster.
STEP 4: The clusters were arranged in a way inorder
ro reduce the negative spaces around.the
vehicles were kept outside the community spaces
inorder to provide a safer spaces for the people.
Streets were created at alternate intervals to
allow unobstructed pedestrian movement
The vehicular movement is
kept outside the cluster so that
the pedestrians are free to move
anywhere within the cluster
The streets are created in
between to allow pedestrians
to move to spaces easily
The streets are created to provide pedestrian
movement that allows the users
to reach different spaces easily.
This helps to keep the vehicular movement
separate from the pedestrian.
The market spaces are used
inorder to improve the economical
conditions by improving
the tourism in this area.
The market can have interactive
spaces,spaces for outdoor exhibition
market and amphitheatres.
The mandir can be improved
inorder to attract tourists.

The project also focuses on reviving
the culture of the colony and improve
the social lifestyle of the people.

silk industry and for other cultural activities.
