See how they manufacture everyone’s favorite dessert with over 100 flavors. Then visit the Kansas Specialty Dog Service ((KSDS) and see where they train service dogs for the physically handicapped, and guide dogs for the visually impaired. Next stop is Herrs Memory Lane where you will be amazed at the restored vehicles including a Model T built completely from new parts from a 1930’s garage. Our day also includes a delicious lunch and a mystery stop. Discover the amazing process that turned raw wheat into our daily bread at the Neligh Mills. Our next stop will be at the Pierson Wildlife Museum Learning Center featuring the animal collection of E. K. Pierson. An avid hunter, Dr. Pierson collected trophies from South Africa, Zambia, Kenya, Spain, Australia, Slovenia and North America. Noon lunch will be at Green Gables Restaurant followed by a guided tour of Ashfall Fossil Beds State Historical Park. Ashfall is a natural landmark with complete skeletons left in place for viewing. Our last stop for the day will be the Klown Doll Museum at Plainview. It was proclaimed by Governor Dave Heineman as Nebraska’s Klown Kapital. You will be pleased with the 7,000 dolls in this amazing collection. Our guide will be with us the entire day. Our next stop is the Pedal Clinic, an inspiring collection of 450+ pedal toys that have been restored. We will also enjoy a mystery stop. Then it is on to Heavenly Treasures Quilt Shop where you will see over 5,000 bolts of fabric. Next, we visit an Amish woodworking shop where we will see the beautiful furniture they are known for. Take a ride in an Amish Buggy before a bountiful lunch on an Amish farmstead. How about watching buffaloes at feeding time? This buffalo feeder will share his story and you will be able to watch the buffalo at feeding time. Before making our way home, we will have dinner at the Convent House Bed and Breakfast.
