Lord, don’t despair of us. We can hardly believe it ourselves. Yet we know
it is true. We have seen the Light that came into the world with the birth of
Christ, but we still choose to live in darkness. We choose hate instead of
love, greed in place of generosity, selfishness when we should be selfgiving.
Forgive us, Lord, and shine your Light upon us that we may be
worthy of fellowship with you.
The Offertory Prayer
O Lord, we who have received the Light of the World realize that
many have not yet known that glorious privilege; so we give these
offerings in order that others may see, may know, and may believe.
