Chairman Mau dancing is described by the composer as an ‘out-take from his Opera<br />
Nixon in China. George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue is a firm favourite and listeners will<br />
recognise the popular folk tunes in Peter Hope’s Three American Sketches. The concert<br />
ends with dazzling music from Leonard Bernstein’s West Side Story.<br />
