Stage lighting and audio workshop
The technical side of staging
any event or production
is as important as the guest
speakers or the performers
themselves.
In this digital age of refined
audio, engaging
graphics and mood enhancing
lighting people expect,
and even demand, such attributes
wherever they go.
From an event organiser’s
perspective, deficient audio,
inappropriate and ineffective
lighting, and poorly
orchestrated stage management,
leads to disappointed
audiences who are deprived
of a positive experience, and
they will remember that for
a long time.
Oakey and District Arts
Council have secured a
grant from Toowoomba Regional
Council to conduct a
two-day workshop in lighting
and audio production
based in Oakey’s Cultural
Centre.
The workshop will start on
Saturday, February 3. Limited
places are available for
this hands-on opportunity.
Tuition will be provided by
two members of Toowoomba’s
Empire Theatre technical
team.
Due to generous support
from Oakey Lions Club
there will be no charge for
local teenagers who wish to
participate in the workshop
series.
Engaging graphics and mood enhancing lighting.
However, a nominal registration
fee will apply to adult participants.
Toowoomba, Queensland’s
famed Garden City and just 90
minutes from Brisbane, will be
buzzing with bowling action and
the spirit of friendly competition
this year as players, officials
and supporters from all around
Queensland gather to participate
in the annual Tenpin Bowling
Adult State Championships of
this popular sport.
Leader of the organising team
for the 2018 TBAQ Adult State
Championships, Morty Douglass,
today released details of
Queensland’s pinnacle event for
Youth and Adult bowlers from
all around the State.
In association with Platinum
sponsor, Back Roads Touring
Company, the Championships will be staged
across 5 days on two consecutive weekends, April
28-29 and May 5-7, 2018 at Toowoomba’s Sunset
Superbowl.
The state of the art, 24-lane centre will provide
the ideal venue for the event that is expected to
attract more than 200 players, officials and supporters.
The championships comprise several divisions,
culminating in Masters (elite) events for Youth,
Restricted, Adult, Over 45 years, and Senior (over
50 years).
Queensland’s famous Maroon and Gold state
colours will be reflected by the mellow tints of
red and gold that dominate the landscape around
Toowoomba in autumn.
“It’s been almost 20 years since the TBAQ Adult
State Championships were staged in Toowoomba
“Adding to the prestige of the
