Barclays Center는 2012년 개장이후 Brooklyn Nets와 New York Islanders의 홈구장이 되어 왔습니다. AECOM에 의해 기본설계가 되었으며 지역의 iconic<br />
한 명소가 되기위해 SHoP Architects가 design architect로 참여하여 weathering panel로 구성된 급진적인 외부 facade를 디자인 하였습니다.<br />
Master plan상의 3동의 주거 건물이 같은 block내에 들어서게 되면서 이 지역의 명소는 소음의 문제로 부터 자유로울 수 없었으며 소음 저감책을 요구받게<br />
됩니다. SHoP Architects는 기존의 arena의 지붕위에 한겹의 추가적인 지붕을 제안함으로써 소음을 획기적으로 감소시킬수 있는 방법을 제안 하였습니다.

LeBron James가 소속되어 있는 NBA 리그 the Cleveland Cavaliers의 구장으로 AECOM에 의해 설계되었습니다. Client는 오래된 외관을 renovate하고<br />
겨울이 추운 Cleveland의 날씨에도 많은 사람이 머무를수 있는 인테리어 공간을 확보하기를 원했습니다. 이에 SHoP Architects에서는 기존 건물을 interior<br />
curtain 으로 masking 하고 기존의 외부 plaza를 glassbox로 감싸서 인테리어 lobby로 전환하는 안을 제시하였습니다. Interior curtain은 방문객들로부터<br />
오래되고 아름답지 못한 기존의 건물을 시각적으로 차단하고, 동시에 그 공간을 점유하는 사용자들에게는 필수적인 시각적인 개방감, 조망, 채광등을<br />
만족시켜야하는 이중적인 성격이 있었습니다. 또한 먼발치에서 arena를 바라보았을때 시각적인 icon으로 읽힐수 있도록 디자인적인 요소가 가미되어야<br />
했습니다.

건물의 최하단 주차장에서 최상층 penthouse까지 다양한 시각적인 차폐의 조건을 만족하는 단 하나의 skin module을<br />
parametric model로 생성하고 높이와 이면의 프로그램에 따라 형태가 변경되며 전체 건물을 감싸게 됩니다.<br />
