ARGENTINA Contact with the submarine SAN JUAN was lost in the early hours<br />

of 15th November. Searches in her last known position in the San Jorge Gulf, in<br />

Chubut failed to find the boat and her crew of 37 by 24th November.<br />

AUSTRALIA On 17th November it was announced that the RAN’s future auxiliary<br />

oiler replenishment vessels will be named SUPPLY and STALWART. The ships,<br />

which will replace the RAN’s current replenishment vessels SUCCESS and<br />

SIRIUS, are being constructed by Spanish shipbuilder Navantia.<br />

BRISBANE, the second Air Warfare Destroyer (AWD), started the first phase of<br />

sea trials during November. She is expected to be delivered in mid-2018 while<br />

the third and final AWD is scheduled to be handed over in late 2019.<br />

BANGLADESH On 8th November two more Durjoy-class large patrol craft,<br />

NISHAN and DURGAM, were commissioned at the Titumir naval base in Khulna.<br />

FRANCE During mid-November it was reported that the fifth French antisubmarine<br />

warfare (ASW) frégate européenne multi-mission (FREMM) frigate,<br />

BRETAGNE, had successfully completed her first sea trials in Lorient. The<br />

frigate’s construction began in October 2013 and is slated to take delivery of the<br />

ship in mid-2018.<br />

INDONESIA The second Sigma class frigate GUSTI NGURAH RAI (332) was<br />

handed over to the Indonesian Navy on 30th October at her builder’s yard in<br />

Surabaya.<br />

KOREA, SOUTH On 2nd November South Korean shipbuilder Hyundai Heavy<br />

Industries launched the fourth and final LST-2 tank landing ship for the Republic<br />
