2015 (MACRA) --Quality Payment Program.
• Providers can choose one of two methods for reimbursement in
the value-based payment world.
▫ Advanced Alternative Payment Model (AAPM)—
• Medicare Shared Savings Program (Tracks 2 &3) Next Gen ACO, BPCI-
Advanced
▫ Merit-based Incentive Payment System (MIPS)--adjusts a physician’s
payment based on an evaluation against four performance categories.
PFS payment update is .5% until 2020 when update is 0
• Clinicians earn scores based on quality, improvement activities, cost and
EHR Incentive program. Earn incentives for exceptional performers
• Most clinicians will use MIPS.
