RESEARCH AND TECHNOLOGY Technology The Advanced Technology Learning Center (ATLC) has computer labs across campus. These areas help students academically by providing a workspace and resources for both individual assignments and group projects. A 3D printer and short courses in a variety of software applications are also available to students at no charge. Express your creative side in the Digital Media Studio (DMS). Students can create a music video, edit film projects, rent cameras, and more. The DMS is equipped with computers featuring over 50 different choices in digital media software. Solve the most complex problems at the High Performance Computing Center (HPCC). Faculty, students, and staff have access to leading high-performance computing power to process enormous amounts of data. Research Regardless of your course of study, there are faculty and students doing research. Each academic college is committed to advancements in their respective fields by supporting research centers and initiatives. Faculty and students research together in centers such as The Burkhart Center for Autism Education and Research, Center for Nanophotonics, Center for Agricultural Technology Transfer, and the Texas Tech Neuroimaging Institute. CISER is committed to research and education in sciences at all educational levels. University students in the STEM fields have opportunities to conduct research and be recognized for their efforts by participation in the Scholar Research Forum, Undergraduate Research Conference, or Scholar Service Organization. ACADEMIC HIGHLIGHTS Wind Energy Texas Tech offers a Bachelor of Science in Wind Energy. Texas Tech has created the National Wind Institute to better support interdisciplinary research and education in wind science, engineering, and energy. The National Wind Institute offers undergraduate and graduate degree programs that focus on innovation and wind industry. Architecture The College of Architecture prepares professional architects, advances design practice, and promotes new architectural knowledge through diverse, creative, and interdisciplinary research and education. Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management Consistently ranked as one of the top programs in the nation, the RHIM degree focuses on practical work experience and management skills. Apparel <strong>Design</strong> and Manufacturing Apparel <strong>Design</strong> and Manufacturing offers a comprehensive curriculum that prepares students for the apparel industry.
