Here are the major benefits of the Startups India 1. Tax exemption for start-ups for the initial three years. 2. An amount of Rs. 10,000 crore to support and fund start-ups. 3. The capital gains tax on venture capital investments will be removed. 4. Patent registration fee will be reduced by 80%. 5. Government to ensure 90-day window for start-ups to close businesses. 6. Self-certification compliance for start-ups across India. 7. There will be no government inspection for three years for start-ups. 8. New schemes will be launched to provide IPR protection to start-ups and new firms. 9. 5 lakh schools will experience Innovation programme which will target 10 lakh children. 10. Government is all set to launch an app to create a platform for interaction with start-ups. Startup Scheme 1: Support For International Patent Protection In Electronics & Information Technology (SIP-EIT) SIPEIT is directed by Department of Electronics and Information Technology (DeitY) and applicable to IT Services, analytics, enterprise software, technology hardware, Internet of Things, AI industries. The scheme is launched by the Indian government with the aim of providing financial support to MSMEs and technology startup units for international patent filing to encourage innovation. Under the scheme of SIPEIT , the beneficiary can enjoy the reimbursement of INR 15 Lakhs per invention or 50% of the total expenses incurred in filing and processing of the patent application up to grant, whichever is lesser. This scheme is valid up to 30.11.2019. Startup Scheme 2: Software Technology Park (STP) Scheme This scheme is headed by Software Technology Parks of India (STPI). As the name itself suggests, this scheme is applicable for IT services, fintech, enterprise software, analytics, AI and Software companies will be considered eligible for availing benefits from this scheme. This scheme provides data communications servers, statutory services, , incubation facilities, training and value-added services etc to help the start ups of IT industry. There is no time limit to avail this facility.
