Walk-On’s Beginning
The Walk-On’s Story begins with founders Brandon
Landry and Jack Warner playing as walk-ons for the
LSU basketball team in 1997. One of the most important
take-aways for Brandon and Jack during their time
on the bench, was that although their playing time was
brief, that they were still a TEAM with one common
goal: to win!
2012
Best Sports Bar in America in an ESPN Mobile Poll.
Finalist in this continent-wide contest were picked
from more than 5,000 nominations submitted by
ESPN Mobile users. The winner was chosen based
on fan voting, and an editorial panel review.
Driven by team spirit, camaraderie, and their true love
for the game, Brandon and Jack took the lessons learned
from being walk-ons and began applying them to their
future.
2001
Inspired by their amazing opportunities to travel and
visit the best restaurants and sports bars in the country,
their dream of playing LSU basketball was beginning to
shift into a new dream.
Now
In 2001, on a plane ride home from a game at the
University of Tennessee, the floor plan for Walk-On’s
Bistreaux & Bar was drawn on the back of a napkin.
Brandon and Jack submitted their business plan to one
of their professors, who gave them a C; saying their
idea needed more work. Seven banks later, their dream
turned into a reality. Throughout the process of opening
Walk-On’s they discovered the ultimate non-negotiable:
never stop trying!
