Intuitive therapist
Intuitive therapist Mellissa Mallaya followed her intuition and moved 12,000 miles from South
Africa to marry her British husband Paresh. Mellissa has written for the Sunday Tribune and
other SA publications. She hosted a show on East Coast radio and has featured with her sister
Jayshree Mallaya, the other half of Mystic Sisters, on many television shows in South Africa and
around the world.
Her career has led her to meet and read many well-known international sports stars, Hollywood
and Bollywood actors.
Getting to know a bit more about Mellissa.
That’s quite a move, leaving a tropical paradise for snow and rain. How did you adjust?
MP: when your heart dances to a silent song played in your lovers heart, there is no other paradise
that compares to it!
Now that you live in London, what keeps you busy?
GENERAL SERVICES
MP: I am madly passionate. I love experiencing the new. Professionally I still consult. I also
contribute to various publications around the globe. I coordinate events empowering women, lots
really. Personally, I love creating new recipes and surprising my husband with different dishes.
Exploring this awesome city and finding that perfect cocktail!
I know you have had the ‘Who’s who’ of Bollywood in the palm of your hand! Care to name drop?
MP: Ooh, ‘I would tell you, but then I have to kill you’ (said in my Al Capone voice) I respect privacy.
To me each client is a star in their own life.
It is quite interesting, your career direction. Quite off the beaten track. Describe a week of your
life.
MP: Exciting! Meeting clients for consultations. Weekly intuitive positive sessions on Skype.
Working on a revised edition of a book that my sister Jayshree and I wrote. It was a best seller
in South
Africa! Writing a few articles for a few publications. Working on an event that Paresh and I are
working on. Catching up with friends. Cooking. Managing my digital profiles and a date night,
usually to a concert or cinema.
You do wear many hats! What have you done that is not on your professional profile?
MP: My sisters restaurant were the caterers for the movie Dhoom2 which was shot in South Africa.
I once cooked a meal for 40 people as our team was split in 2 locations!! Thankfully everyone
complimented the food rather than fell over with food poisoning!
We are quite excited to have you on board. What can we expect to read about from you?
MP: All the things I am passionate about. The interesting people that I come across. Giving you
a sneak preview into their lives. I will ship out my tarot cards and answer a few letters. I get invited
to various exciting events which I will share faces and places. I am a make up and skincare
junkie. I will review skincare and share a few tips on products that work fabulously on Asian skin.

Epilepsy In Our Community
In 2012 I was in Tesco Bletchley when I felt dizzy,
I can remember walking towards the escalator the
next thing I knew was I was in Milton Keynes
Hospital. Days later I found out that a young
employee James had helped me and he described
what he had seen. Not only had James looked after
me till the ambulance had come he had made sure
my belonging were gathered. I cannot begin to
explain how thankful I am for the care James insured
I had. But this was not to be my last public
seizure. If you see someone having a seizure then
Keep calm and ONLY move the person if they’re in
danger, protect their head and DO NOT put
anything in their mouth. Unless the seizer was for
longer than 5 minutes or the person is injured you
do not need to call an ambulance. Stay with them
until they feel better.
A year later I was in Bletchley Next Clearance store
and I felt myself feel dizzy. I cannot remember
anything other than being in the ambulance I was
later told I then fell back and hit my head and
during this seizure bite though my tongue. This
must have been very stressful for all watching as I
had blood pouring from my head and also mouth.
I was later told that not only did the store staff help
but also the public. The people of Milton Keynes
shopping that day cleared an area and got a cushion
for my head. I have no way other than the
channel of this magazine of thanking them as I
cannot remember anything until I was in the
ambulance. I am very grateful to all involved
including the health professional in our community.

The legacy of the
Rugby World Cup is
vital to the overall
success for the sport
and the whole of the
UK but just as
importantly our local
community. Milton
Keynes Rugby Club
(MKRUFC) and
the Milton Keynes
Council are working
together under their
RWC MKSET project
to ensure that being
a host City of Milton
Keynes not only
show some elements
of the greatest sporting
event in 2015 but
also give the world
an insight in to Milton
Keynes and how well
rugby is progressing
in the City. With a
little of over a year
until the start of the
2015 RWC kicks off
MKRUFC have
already submitted
their ideas in
partnership with
the Milton Keynes
Council with the aim
to secure additional
funds to help support
community events
through the whole of
Milton Keynes and
surrounding village
locations.
