THE MAIN
EVENT
27th - 30th
April 2018
OSA Artists & Makers across Ayrshire
Opening their Studio doors to the world!
‘Now we are six,’ to quote AA
Milne and we are delighted to
welcome back those visitors
who have been coming year
after year and to say hello to
those who are joining us on this
journey of discovery for the first
time. And it is a beautiful journey,
taking you from one end of the
county to the other and many
places in between. This year our
unmissable, four day weekend
event takes place from Friday
27th through to Monday 30th
April 2018.
Over the past six years Open
Studios Ayrshire has presented
the work of many talented
artists and makers who open
their studio doors, and delight
in sharing their passion and
skills with visitors. As ever we
have artists from a wide range
of disciplines including painting,
sculpture, textiles, ceramics,
glass, digital art, jewellery and
printmaking. You will be able see
how artists work, ask questions,
buy work, commission unique
pieces or in some cases arrange
a private workshop. Already
our members are preparing for
visitors by generating new work,
planning demonstrations and
perhaps, like me, even tidying
their studios.
Open Studios
Ayrshire
To start it all off, this year’s
launch will take place on
Thursday 12th April at the Dick
Institute, Kilmarnock, to which
you are all invited. Full details
can be found at:
www.openstudiosayrshire.com
Open Studios Ayrshire is both
funded and organised by us,
the OSA artists and makers, so
the support and generosity of
our supporters is invaluable, in
particular East Ayrshire Council
and South Ayrshire Council, our
advertisers and all the beautiful
venues who are hosting our
artists.
All you have to do now is
check out the maps to plan
a route, find your favourite
artists or disciplines in the
brochure and come and enjoy
the finest creative work on
display anywhere in the West of
Scotland. What could be easier
on a fine spring weekend?
