With summer, one can never know for sure. Some
years we can enjoy its presence from April to September,
other years it settles for a brief guest appearance. But
one thing is for certain: A dinner party out in the
open is always beyond comparison. So be prepared
for a great time, and make sure you have the right
furniture to serve the occasion. In other words, go
for teak wood.
Teak is an amazing material; tough and robust
enough to stand up to the weather elements, year
after year. And with enough endurance to handle
almost any amount of pressure, even in slender
dimensions. But to achieve these superior features,
the teak wood has to undergo proper treatment right
from the start. Then, the planks need to gain the
proper moisture content before being shipped off to
become furniture. Since the manufacturing process
for teak wood calls for high precision tools, we use
machines to obtain the desired quality. This particular
quality is found in detail in, for example, the Cecilia
set. Like many of our teak furniture, it has a whitepigmented
surface with a charming, rustic feel to it.
As shown in several places in this catalogue, teak
also fits well in with furniture made from other
materials, such as synthetic rattan. It’s important
for us to know the origin of the teak wood and to
protect the wild specimen. Therefore we choose to
work exclusively with planted teak from plantations.
