Epson Support: Cleaning Print
Head Of An Epson Printer

Print head of a printer prints the ink onto the paper. If you
are not getting the good print results like missing lines or
a spotty printout. Then it means that there is something
wrong with the print head.
It may need to be unclogged otherwise; you will not get
clear printouts. A print head is extremely delicate and can
be harmed easily. Once it is damaged, then you have to
buy a new machine.
To clean it properly, follow these steps:
• Switch on your printing machine and make sure it is
connected to your computer. Insert a couple of pieces
of paper into the printing machine.

• Navigate to the Control Panel option and select Printers and
Faxes.
• Make a right-click on the Epson Printer that you require to
clean and click on ‘Printing Preferences’.
• Select the Maintenance or Head Cleaning tab. Now, select
the option for a Head Cleaning and then perform the actions
requested by the Epson wizard in order to initiate the
cleaning. The printer will start working and then the cleaning
method will begin. Don’t play with the printing machine
while it is cleaning and don’t attempt to print anything while
it is being cleaned.
• When it is cleaned properly. Select “Print Nozzle Check”
under your printing preferences dialog box and then click
Print.

• Once they are cleaned, take out a printout and check
the result. This will help you to determine whether
cleaning helped or not.
• If broken lines are present on the printout, then the
problem has not gone. And if it prints solid, then
you’re done.
