What fascinates me the most about tailoring<br />
is that is very organic, you are always<br />
learning something new especially techniques.<br />
Experienced tailors will give you tips or you will<br />
read a book and merge these techniques with<br />
your own knowledge to develop your own way<br />
of constructing garments. The luxury market is<br />
fascinating and the transition between working in<br />
womenswear and menswear happened naturally. I<br />
always liked to work with tailoring cloth and I try<br />
to create my pieces using my knowledge in men’s<br />
and women’s fashion while bringing together the<br />
details, materials and values from one gender to<br />
the other. Being able to construct a garment is a<br />
very interesting experience for new creations.<br />
I started to focus my work in menswear<br />
when I lunched my own men’s accessories brand<br />
developing ties, bow ties, cuff links and umbrellas.<br />
Through my brand I was able to meet some<br />
tailors in Brazil but this was not enough for me,<br />
I wanted to have experience and learn from the<br />
best professionals in Savile Row. As one of my<br />
teachers in University used to say “We don’t like<br />
fashion we are passionate for clothes”.
