History<br />
THE BEGINNING<br />
In 1 861 , Sjoerd van <strong>Buren</strong> founded a skin<br />
& wool trading company. He separated<br />
the wool from the skin and sold the<br />
products seperatly. His son took it over<br />
in 1 903 and moved the company to<br />
<strong>Bolsward</strong>, where we are still located to<br />
this date. From 1 969, we became a<br />
tannery and focused on producing endproducts,<br />
intended for decoration,<br />
health and adding extra cosiness to<br />
your home.<br />
6 TH GENERATION VAN BUREN<br />
From 1 976, the company has been under the<br />
direction <strong>of</strong> brothers Thomas and Rients van<br />
<strong>Buren</strong>. Since 2003, Thomas retired and Jolt van<br />
<strong>Buren</strong>, son <strong>of</strong> Rients van <strong>Buren</strong>, has stepped into<br />
the company. Ensuring that the knowledge and<br />
experience <strong>of</strong> over a century and a half lives on.<br />
