Es ist bekannt, dass Wirtschaftswachstum die Unterschiede zwischen
Reichen und Armen verschärft. Auch bekannt ist allerdings, dass
Entwicklung oft an staatlichem Wirtschaftswachstum bemessen wird.
Die meisten Menschen, von links bis rechts, wissen das. Ausführliche
Beispiele dafür zu geben, bedeutet darum noch nicht, anders zu
denken. Öl zum Beispiel spielte je nach Kontext unterschiedliche
Rollen. Was verdeutlicht solche Unterschiede – Umweltzerstörung, die
Krieg als urbane Katastrophe verschleiert? Die Rechte würde hier
wohl anders argumentieren. Aber eben: ist das Sammeln von Beispielen
schon ein anderes Denken? Kompliziert der Gender-Aspekt solche
Angelegenheiten oder wirkt er in anderen Bereichen? Ein konkretes
Beispiel werden die Rekordinvestitionen in Burma und die Notlage der
Rohingya sein.
It is well-known that economic growth promotes exacerbation of the
difference between the rich and the poor. Yet it is also well known that
development is often counted in terms of a state’s economic
growth. Most people, left, right, center know this. Thus to give detailed
examples of this is not really to think differently. Oil is a thing that
has acted differently in different places. What spells out the difference
– covering war through environmental destruction into urban disaster?
Here perhaps the right reasons differently. But again, is gathering
examples thinking differently? Does gendering complicate these matters
or is it in a different space of effects? A specific example will be
the record of investment in Burma and the plight of the Rohingyas.
