March Congratulations
Congratulations to our P7s who put on three
breathtaking shows of Peter Pan. There were
many comments on the night and on social
media about the standard of performance from
the P7s at Rathmore. This reflects the amount
of work and energy they put into rehearsals.
Some budding stars for the future for sure!
The photos themselves speak of the sheer
amount of work that went into costumes and
makeup. For those of you who want to relive
the magic, the DVDs are nearly ready.
Please note that all funds raised are reinvested
into lights, sound, mics and performance
licensing. Thank you for your ongoing support.
Our Hockey Teams both played magnificently
at the Ards & North Down Area Championship
held in Regent House last month. As the date
clashed with our P7 musical, we relied heavily
on our P6 Boys’ and Girls’ Teams.
Over the last few months, our Netball Team
has been busy playing a number of local schools
and are improving with each game. We are so
proud of their commitment and energy.
P6 & P7 Residentials
Last month, our P6 pupils headed off to The
Share Centre in Fermanagh for their P6
residential trip, where they spent four days
together. From 1-4 May, our P7s will be
travelling to Edinburgh for four days. We remain
committed to providing opportunities for our P6
& P7 pupils to spend time away from home on
these extended residential. Our sincerest thanks
to parents and staff who support these trips.
Group Photographs
On Friday (13th April), Dougie from ‘Cool 4
Schools’ will be in school to take photographs
of our Nursery, P1, P4 and P7 classes as well
as our various teams and clubs at school.
PTA
Thank you to the committee for serving
refreshments during ‘Peter Pan’ and hosting
the Book Fair. This year, we raised £1188 in
commission which we invest in supplementing
our class libraries. Thank you for your
support!
Next week is Brown Money Week. So look
down the back of the sofa for any spare
copper s! Throughout the week, Mr s
McFarland our Maths Coordinator and the
staff team will be organising a number of
money related activities to bring financial
capability to life in the classroom.
Our PTA Table Quiz is taking place on Friday
27 April at 7.30pm at Carnalea Golf Club.
Tickets £5 - available from the School Office.
Rights Respecting School Award
As a school, we are working towards our
Silver assessment day on the 9th May when
we will show all the work we have been doing
in relation to the rights of the child. The
children have been learning that they don’t
have to do anything to get the rights they are
born with and have been learning a song
about it. This song can be accessed on our
school website on the RRS page.
