Introduction
Connection diagram
Special precautions
b Never connect or disconnect a connector while the
device is energised.
b Check voltages before connecting.
b Always energise the RM12T multiplexer before the
Vigirex RMH.
Protection of the device
b The Vigirex RMH is supplied by 220/240 V AC
50/60 Hz power.
b Recommended protection for wiring of the Vigirex
RMH:
v C60N phase + neutral or 2-pole circuit breaker or
DPN phase + neutral circuit breaker (1 A, curve C or D)
v STI isolatable fuse carrier (with 1 A fuse).
Types of toroids to be used
Two types of toroids may be connected: types A and OA.
The toroid characteristics are indicated in the Vigirex catalogue.
Compatibility with E toroids in existing installations:
b TE (Ø 30 mm) ; PE (Ø 50 mm) : total compatibility
b IE (Ø 80 mm) ; ME (Ø 120 mm) ; SE (Ø 200 mm)
ATTENTION
The thresholds should never be set to less than 300mA for these threetoroids,
IE, ME and SE.
b Maximum cable lengths between toroid and RM12T multiplexer 10 m.
Connecting the toroids:
The toroids (12 maximum) are connected to the RMH via a RM12T selector.
Requirements concerning the cable connecting the RMH to the RM12T:
b
maximum length of 10 metres.
four wires (two twisted pairs).
b
The Vigirex RMH automatically recognises any new toroid added when it is
energised.
Using the different channels:
b a single display and a single keypad are provided on
the device to read measurements and modify settings
on all 12 channels
b select the channel corresponding to a given circuit
and then proceed as if the RMH were connected to this
circuit alone
b it is also possible to use all the channels at the same
time see page 54. For this, all the numbers
corresponding to the channels connected to toroids
must be lit. The display will show three dashes.
Interpreting and resetting
pre-alarms and alarms
Introduction
As already seen, the relay implements two insulation
monitoring thresholds, one corresponding to a pre-alarm
and the other to an alarm.
Pre-alarms
The pre-alarm threshold "I pre-al." corresponds to an
earth leakage level that must be eliminated before it
becomes dangerous for the installation.
Alarms
The alarm threshold "I alarm" corresponds to an earth
leakage current that is dangerous for the installation.
The signal appears if:
b the measured earth leakage current is greater than
the set fault threshold "I alarm" on at least one channel
for a period of time greater than the set delay "t alarm (s)"
b an "on" test is run by the operator
b a break in the toroid link is detected
b the connection with the RM12T selector is defective.
The consequences are as follows:
b the alarm and pre-alarm relays are actuated (except
in the event of a break in the toroid link in which case
only the alarm relay is actuated), the dry output contact
changes position (terminals 3, 4, and 5 of connector A).
Testing the relay
Introduction
A self-test procedure can be used to check the Vigirex
RMH quickly and automatically. It is possible to run this
self-test without tripping the pre-alarm or the alarm.
This allows the system to be checked without affecting
the installation.
A self-test can be run in one of the following ways:
b using the keys on the front of the device
b via the remote "TEST" and "RESET" inputs
b remotely, via the internal bus network
(see "communicating via the internal bus").
Communicating via the internal bus
Introduction
The Vigirex RMH may be connected to the Digipact electrical installation
management system. The Vigirex RMH can then communicate with a supervisor via
the Digipact DC150 data concentrator.
This allows remote viewing of
b Measurements.
b Vigirex RMH status.
b Settings.
It is also possible to modify settings remotely.
Types of communication
Data may be transferred:
b in real time
b periodically
b on request.
Please note:
a complete description of the types of communication and the protocol used is available in
the literature on the DC150 data concentrator.
Identification on the network
Number of points occupied by the Vigirex RMH: 24 points.
Automatic addressing: see Digipact DC150 data concentrator manual.
