Places to go for all things snow... Courchevel Part of Les Trois Vallées, the world’s biggest interconnected skiing area, this French Alps ski resort is a world-famous playground. Courchevel’s 93 miles (150 kilometers) of alpine ski runs and 58 ski lifts will delight any skier regardless of your skiing experience. The resort is made up of a collection of villages, with the most famous four being Courchevel Le Praz, Courchevel Village, Courchevel Moriond, and the highest resort simply known as Courchevel. St. Moritz St. Moritz is a luxurious Alpine resort situated in Switzerland’s Engadine Valley and perhaps one of the most famous holiday destinations in the world synonymous with sophistication, style and extravagance. The resort lies at an elevation of 5,910 ft (1,800 meters) above sea level and offers skiing, snowboarding, cross-country ski trails and polo and cricket on ice. It has hosted the Winter Olympics twice and belongs to a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Zermatt The car-free, picturesque ski village of Zermatt lies at the foot of the famous pyramid-shaped Matterhorn peak in southern Switzerland’s Valais canton on the Italian border. When visiting Zermatt, the highest ski resort in Europe, winter sports enthusiasts can look forward to guaranteed snow, 365 days a year. The streets of this romantic village are lined with houses dating back more than 500 years, boutiques, cozy restaurants and lavish hotels. Colorado Colorado offers many excellent skiing options for you to choose from. Discover the pedestrian-friendly town of Vail, mingle with celebrities in Aspen, relax at the famous Beaver Creek Resort just south of Avon or immerse yourself in Gold Rush history in Breckenridge. Vail Ski Resort and Aspen Snowmass Resort are set within White River National Forest; Avon is 8 miles (13 kilometers) west of Vail; and Breckenridge lies at the base of the Rocky Mountains’ Tenmile Range. Utah East of Salt Lake City lies Park City. It is surrounded by the scenic Rocky Mountains and is home to three world-class ski resorts namely Deer Valley Resort, Park City Mountain Resort and The Canyons Resort. British Colombia Whistler is situated approximately 125 km (78 mi) north of Vancouver, British Columbia in Canada and is home to one of the largest ski resorts in North America, Whistler Blackcomb. This pedestrian village lies at the base of two mountains, namely Whistler and Blackcomb, after which the resort was named. With over 8,100 acres of snow-covered slopes used primarily for alpine skiing and snowboarding, it is clear why two million visitors frequent Whistler each year.
