The new 2017 Toyota 4Runner, Tundra
and Tacoma TRD Pro series give
professional adventurers and weekend
warriors alike the SUV and trucks
they need to tackle the road less travelled — even
if it means slogging through muck on the way.
TOYOTA 4RUNNER TRD PRO
Available for the first time in Canada this
year, Toyota Racing Development (TRD)
offers adventure-seekers a new ride with the
rugged 2017 Toyota 4Runner TRD Pro.
Featuring the authentic body-on-frame
construction thrill-seekers want in an SUV
and with a global reputation for tackling the
toughest terrain around, the tough 4Runner
TRD Pro features TRD-tuned front springs,
TRD Bilstein high-performance shocks, and
31.5-inch Nitto Terra Grappler all-terrain tires
on 17-inch matte black aluminum wheels with
TRD centre caps.
Ground-pounding off-road performance
features include four-wheel crawl control, levertype
4WD selector, four-setting multi-terrain
select system that tailors wheel slip to specific
off-road conditions, Toyota’s Kinetic Dynamic
Suspension System, multi-terrain ABS, and
high-visibility Optitron instrumentation.
This 4Runner has style to match, with TRD
Pro style enhancements including black seats
with red stitching, hood scoop, TRD logo on
the front headrests, black end caps for the roof
rails, heritage Toyota grille, TRD shifter, TRD
Pro-badged floor mats, black TRD Pro badging
on the C-pillar and tailgate, TRD-stamped
aluminum front skid plate, black accents on
the front and rear bumpers and more.
Of course, it’s still a 4Runner, with a powerful
and proven 270-horsepower 4.0-litre V6 with
278 lb.-ft. of torque, and super electronically
controlled five-speed automatic transmission.
It tows up to 5,000 lbs (2,268 kg) and
includes standard hitch plus 4-pin and 7-pin
wiring harnesses. Rugged yet comfortable
suspension and advanced control
technologies such as hill start assist and
downhill assist control make every launch

2017 Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is the full-size

Toyota loaded up the new off-road-ready
Tundra with all the standard Tundra gear
and Blind Spot Monitoring System with Rear
Cross Traffic Alert, and then beefed it up with:
TRD Remote Reservoir Suspension, TRD dual
exhaust, TRD skid plate and 18-inch black
alloy wheels, plus a choice of double cab and
CrewMax configurations.
It doesn’t just perform like a brawny TRD

and centre cap, and unique shift knob.

with its 381-horsepower, 5.7-litre V8, six-speed
super ECT transmission with Sequential Shift

rear differential and one-touch 4WD that lets
you switch seamlessly into and out of 4WD mode.

around the world, the Tacoma TRD Pro
ratchets up the Tacoma 4x4 even more: its
five-person double cab configuration with
five-foot cargo bed features performance
upgrades including TRD Remote Reservoir
Suspension Kit, TRD-tuned front coil springs
with Fox Racing Shocks, TRD Pro quarter-inch
aluminum skid plate and 16-inch Goodyear
Wrangler All-Terrain Kevlar-reinforced
