SPECIAL EVENTS: NASA @ My Library: Astrophysicist Tyler Parsotan<br />

Presents his Work. Thurs., <strong>April</strong> 26, 3:30 pm. We are partnering with the<br />

Oregon Museum of Science and Industry to bring you a program with<br />

a working scientist, Tyler Parsotan. Participants will watch a live video<br />

presentation and then to do a fun, hands-on activity related to his work.<br />

LIBRARY BOOK CLUB: Mon., <strong>April</strong> 23, 7:00 pm. Meets in the Community<br />

Mtg Room. <strong>April</strong> is author month and they will be reading works by Ivan<br />

Doi. TECHNOLOGY: TechWise Tuesdays - Tuesdays, 10:00 am -12:00<br />

noon. Drop in with your mobile devices or laptops for hands-on help with<br />

downloading library ebooks, audiobooks, movies, music and more; learning<br />

computer basics; trying new software or internet applications; signing up for<br />

Microsoft IT Academy; and any other tech questions. WEDNESDAY EVENING<br />

PROGRAMS: Wednesday evening programs begin after regular library<br />

hours; no library services will be available. Experiencing Cuba by Bicycle<br />

- Wed., <strong>April</strong> <strong>25</strong>, 7:00 pm. Join Bill and Ann Testerman for a presentation<br />

on their bicycle trip <strong>through</strong> rural Cuba. SPRING FILM SERIES: Fridays at<br />

CHILDREN’S LIBRARY <strong>April</strong> <strong>2018</strong> PROGRAMS. All programs are free and<br />

registration is not required, except where noted. PRESCHOOL STORYTIME:<br />

Ages 3-5 and their grown-up - Stories, songs and crafts. Meets in the<br />

Children’s Dept. TIME FOR TOTS: Held in the Library Community Meeting<br />

Room at 10:30 am on Wed. and Fri. Designed for children birth-36 months<br />

and their caregivers. LEGOS IN THE LIBRARY: Join us every Sun. 1-3pm<br />

in the Activity Room to make your own Lego creation. Children ages 5-12,<br />

younger is fine, too, when accompanied by an adult. Do not bring any Legos<br />

from home. TALES FOR TAILS: Join us in the Children’s Dept on Sat., <strong>April</strong><br />

14th, 1-2pm to read to a therapy dog. It’s a great way to practice your reading<br />

and meet a new, furry friend! NEW BOOK GROUPS! We have a Book<br />

Group for Elementary School readers in 5th grade <strong>April</strong> 23rd • We also have<br />

for you and your child to explore. Teen NASA Program - Middle and High<br />

will teach us about the most powerful explosions in the universe!<br />

<strong>The</strong> Friends of the Anacortes Library’s Art Committee is launching a new<br />

art exhibit program in the community room of the Anacortes Public Library.<br />

Artists residing in the 98221 zip code are eligible to submit digital photos<br />

of their two dimensional art for consideration. Send an e-mail to folartcommittee@gmail.com<br />

requesting info on how to apply. <strong>The</strong> first exhibition will<br />

be May 10 thru Sept. 13. Submittal deadline is <strong>April</strong> 20, <strong>2018</strong>.<br />
