Chairman's Desk...
Dear Friends
We have stepped into the Financial Year 2018-19 and I stand
extremely confident of moving ahead as a stronger leaner
organisation.
We have taken a decision to merge into one Corporate Office and this
logistical move has larger implications than a mere seat change – I look at
it as a consolidation of sorts. We will now be at one place with greater
accessibility to each other and greater ability to take team decisions. Being
in one place makes me think of us as one strong team!
Let's now address our business needs on a war footing and let speed of
delivery and fast decision making be our motto! I often see strings of mails
being exchanged between teams for petty decisions that either need a phone
call or a single meeting. Our efforts should be directed at getting the work done
without wasting time or energy.
We all - I as a promoter of this organisation and you as its ambassador - realise that
ours is a great company. We have come a long way and in the process delivered some exceptional work
globally. Today is the time when all of us need to put aside our egos, differences and hierarchy and vigorously
take ownership for our action and responsibility of our teams.
This issue of Spirit of Enterprise reiterates what this company is capable of – great execution by great people.
The people of North East are extremely happy with the construction of the Sikkim airport in their land-locked
state and people of states like Bihar, Chhattisgarh and Odisha thank our company for the national highway
projects that will enhance connectivity. Our Defence project for full body truck scanners will enhance the nation's
security at our borders. Such is the nature of our work! We build our nation and other nations too, using quality as
our most precious tool.
Our projects under execution are making good progress and we are continuing to win new orders. If we stay
focussed with a positive, go-getter attitude, we are sure to be back to our leadership position as a global EPC
company.
And this is now in your hands!

Punj Lloyd at the Grand Launch of its 15th Milestone Project with
GAIL (India)
As the construction partner for GAIL's 36”dia x 206.6 km Dhamra -
Angul section of Jagdishpur-Haldia-Bokaro-Dhamra Pipeline, Punj
Lloyd was invited to the launch ceremony at the proposed pigging
station near Jajpur.
The inauguration of the pipeline was done by Honourable Minister
of Petroleum & Natural Gas, Skill Development and
Entrepreneurship, Shri Dharmendra Pradhan.
The ambitious 2,655 km long JHBDPL project also known as
'Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga' project originates at Jagdishpur (Uttar
Pradesh). The main trunk of pipeline ends at Haldia (West Bengal)
and Dhamra (Odisha). The pipeline passes through Uttar Pradesh,
Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha.
The project is considered as a major step towards collective
growth and development of the Eastern region of India. It will
provide clean energy to households and transportation in the cities
en-route the pipeline.
Work on the pipeline has started in full swing.

Foundation Laying Ceremony of Phulera–Degana Railway Project
The foundation ceremony of the Phulera - Degana Railway project was held in Jaipur where the Union Minister of State
for Railways, Rajen Gohain was present along with Hon'ble Minister of State for Consumer Affairs, Food and Public
Distribution and Minister of State in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, CR Chaudhary.
The scope of work entails composite construction of 2nd railway line with civil infrastructure work, track work, signaling
and telecommunication.
Achievements
NEW ORDERS
PLN Construction wins new HDD
order in Bihar
PLN Construction, the HDD (Horizontal Directional Drilling)
arm of Punj Lloyd has won a repeat order from Indian Oil
Corporation in a short span of time. The project entails
installing 10/12 inch pipeline across various rivers, having a
cumulative length of 6.6 km by HDD method for the Paradip-
Haldia-Durgapur LPG Pipeline Augmentation Project.
B&I creates a stir by winning
Rs 1311 crore Highway projects
The Buildings and Infrastructure team has made everyone
ecstatic with two project wins consecutively in a short span of
time. Both the EPC projects are in Odisha NH 5 for six/four
landing from Puintola to Tangi and six laning from Tangi to
Bhubaneshwar.

Irrigation
We recently forayed into the new business of irrigation and are extremely proud that our canal lining and
structure work including excavation, embankment, filling for the Gosikhurd National Project in districts of
Maharashtra is making good headway.
Asian Highway
A 50 m long, 2.7 m wide girder has been launched at our
prestigious Asian Highway Bhutan – Bangladesh Road
project. A very difficult task as soon after the placement of the
first girder, the execution team had to be cautious against
buckling and overturning till the second girder was joined. This
is the single longest girder that has ever been erected by Punj
Lloyd and a great feat in the field of civil construction.
RAPID
Our ongoing flagship Tankage order, RAPID is making great progress in execution besides surpassing its own
quality and safety milestones at the project. We are the first EPCC in RC that has completed all elements for
HSE in transition readiness.
Hydro testing of all 44 tanks and the spheres has been completed. External Painting of 37 tanks and
internal painting for 31 has also been completed. The piping erection work is nearly complete. Our RAPID
project team has been consistently demonstrating strong commitment to Quality and Safety which is

evident from the Focused Recognition awards recently received from the
client, Petronas. Punj Lloyd has won the following recognitions:
1. Quality Excellence award - Best Contractor award for the month of
February 2018 – this is second time that the team has received this
award
2. HSE Excellence award - Best Contractor award for the month of
November 2017
It is matter of pride that Punj Lloyd has topped the charts among reputed
EPC Contractors such as Toyo Engineering, TR Engineering, CCSM, Sinopec and Petrofrac. Quality and safety
results demonstrate the team's commitment, focus, untiring efforts and leadership. The Management interacts
regularly with workers through 'We Care We Walk' initiative. Another innovative program, 'VIP lunch' has been
implemented where the team can openly interact on Quality and Safety issues during lunch with the leadership
team. The Management mission is to ensure that every worker returns home safely to his family. Quality Assurance
takes precedence over Quality Control for which the Management is relentlessly driving preventive approach.
The team has recently achieved 15 million manhours at the site.

Outstanding Achievement Award from ORPIC, Oman
ORPIC has awarded Punj Lloyd with the outstanding achievement award for
one million LTI free manhours without lost time injury. In a celebration in Oman, the
client gave away the certificate to the team.
Sikkim Airport passes the test
On 10th March 2018, a Spicejet flight, Bombardier Q400,
landed safely at the Pakyong airport. A special inspection team
comprising DGCA, AAI and Spicejet technical personnel were
on-board the flight and upon successful landing they jointly
inspected the runway and allied infrastructure. Constructing a
1700 m long runway in the land-locked and mountainous
terrain of Sikkim has not been an easy task but our team took
up the challenge and achieved the impossible! This airport will
be one of the five highest airports in India. The project won the
'International Project of the Year' award at the Ground
Engineering Awards 2012 for the construction of a 70 m high
reinforced earth wall, the tallest in the world.

'Best Project Performance' 2017 by IOCL
Punj Lloyd received the trophy for 'Best Project Performance' for OSHA Practice at the Aishwarya Project, Haldia. We
are extremely happy that honourable members of the jury from IOCL & EIL found us worthy of this award after reviewing
the safety performance of all the sub-contracting agencies at the 'Safety Recognition and Awareness Meet 2017'. We
are committed to maintain our zero tolerance approach to safety.
Congratulations Kritika for being the SECOND time recipient of
the IPLOCA Scholarship
Kritika Mishra, daughter of Mr Pradeep Kumar Mishra of Qatar, has IPLOCA to thank for
the USD 4,500/- Scholarship she has received as part of the IPLOCA Scholarship
Program for member companies employees' children. Kritika is the SECOND time
winner of the IPLOCA sponsorship
The award of scholarship was based on academic performance, demonstrated
leadership and participation in school and community activities, honours, work
experience, statement of goals and aspirations and Kritika stood up to all tests.
The grateful father wrote to Punj Lloyd, “We would like once again to thank PLL
management for providing us the platform to avail scholarship under IPLOCA.”
Kritika is presently pursuing her B. Tech, 2nd year in Computer Engineering and we wish
her good luck in her endeavours.
Spreading Happiness
There is great power in togetherness. Employees
of Punj Lloyd came together to volunteer at the
Dream Girl Foundation, creating a base for the
future schooling of these young learners. It was
heartening to see the delight on their little faces and
their zeal for learning. The smiles and gratitude
were an instant reward for our volunteers!
