TALK 3: HOMECOMING GOOD OUT OF BAD FAMILIES were designed to live under one roof. That is God’s original intention. But because of economic hardship, we’re forced to separate. The father or mother flies thousands of miles to work, leaving the children behind. Whenever I visit OFWs, I always tell them, “If you’re living away from your spouse or kids, promise me that this is temporary. You will do all you can to go home next year or two years or three years from now.” But I also believe that “all things God works for good” (Romans 8:28 GNT)—even this separation. I pray for your family. May you become more united. May you grow closer to God. May you prosper in every area. Today, we finish the story of Joseph, and how God brought good out of all the bad that happened in his life. May you be empowered today! 2 May your dreams come true, Bo Sanchez Last Minute One day, a sick father was on the verge of dying. He had second stroke attack and was comatosed. Within two weeks, his wife, kids and grandchildren stayed beside him. They spent time with him and whispered words – except for one – his eldest son. They had conflict for years and there where no reconciliation that happened. Within those two weeks, he was trying to survive. The family members could see it despite the obvious decaying body. Perhaps he was waiting for something before he finally give his last breathe. Perhaps, he was waiting for someone before he let go and release. On the 14 th night, an amazing and heartfelt moment happened. His eldest son arrived home, gently approached his father on his death bed and whispered “Pa, ako ito…”. Tears fell down on the eyes of the father. Everybody can tell that he heard those words. The following morning. The dying father gave his last breathe. Yes there was grief, but it was comforting to know that reconciliation happened “last minute.” Friend, do not wait for unwanted things to happen before you forgive. Before you reconcile. Before you make peace to yourself and with others. Before you decide to care. Before you give your hug. Before you express your love. Don’t wait for last minute. LAST WEEK AT THE FEAST BY CARMS LAYA Just keep going It was in my elementary days when I was first introduced to a bicycle, and it was love at first sight. I told myself I would ride it. After a thousand falls, I gained many scratches on the knees, elbows, and sides. I got body pain, and of course, a load of scolding, hehe. But I just kept going and kept pedalling. After the hard work finally, I managed to ride it perfectly! It was breathtaking, as the wind touched my shabby cheeks I felt the rush of freedom, and it felt very good and fulfilling as it brought me to different places in our barangay. In life, setting a goal is vital and taking actions for it is equally important. There may be a few or tons of setbacks where you would be bruised and scarred in trying to reach that goal. Regardless, just keep going because God already plotted everything for you to succeed and that is 100% guaranteed. “ For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” - Jeremiah 29:11 A Reflection by Mariz Engcoy Thanksgiving and Answered Prayers ONE BIG MESSAGE: Prepare to prosper A wise man thinks ahead. a fool doesn’t and even brags about it. Wars aren’t won in the battlefield but in the training field. Wars are won before the battle begins. 2. Everything is Preparation. Your struggles. Ups and downs. Preparation for your prosperity. THINGS TO REMEMBER: 1) Preparation includes pain. 2) Preparation is patience. There are things that does not requires drastic change but it needs to grow like the baby that develop in a mother’s womb. Like managing our finances, Investments are more important than Income. We need to grow it to make our money grow. We need to prepare three envelopes -eternity envelope is where we place our money for our tithes. -emancipation envelope is for our investments. -everyday envelope is for our consumption. Managing our finances well will help us prosper.
