Open to any member who is<br />

Championship Count Back<br />
In the event of a count back the<br />
lowest last qualifying score will<br />
decide the winner.<br />
In the event of a tie the last<br />
qualifying cards will be dealt with<br />
in terms of the AGU Count Back<br />

Matches<br />
Will be played over 18 holes<br />
except the Open Championship<br />
Final which will be played over<br />
36 holes. There will be no handicap<br />
plate events.<br />
France Cup<br />
Will be presented to the player<br />
with the best two Net scores from<br />
the qualifying rounds.<br />
Catling/Jones Trophy<br />
Will be presented to the player<br />
with the best two Gross scores<br />
from the qualifying rounds.<br />
All positions will be determined<br />
by a count-back.<br />
The winner will become the No 1<br />
qualifier for the championships.<br />
Championship Games<br />
All championship games must be<br />
played on or before set date.
GENERAL INFORMATION<br />
Change of Fixtures<br />
All fixtures are subject to alteration<br />
by the match committee.<br />
Any such alterations will be posted<br />
on the notice board.<br />
Starting Times<br />
Members are to be available for<br />
hit off at the time indicated on the<br />
time sheet. Members who are<br />
late forfeit their allotted time and<br />
are to hit off at the rear of the<br />
field.<br />
Score Cards<br />
Score cards must show correct<br />
handicap and be signed by both<br />
player and marker and placed in<br />
the box provided. ALL cards<br />
must be returned for handicap<br />
purposes.<br />
Etiquette<br />
Members are to observe the<br />
rules of etiquette and move<br />
quickly, replace divots, smooth<br />
bunkers and sand traps, call<br />
players through when searching<br />
for a lost ball, pick up when<br />
beaten by the competition etc.<br />
Let all members enjoy their game<br />
of golf.<br />
Dress Standard<br />
Neat dress is required at all<br />
times. Tailored trousers and<br />
collared shirts are acceptable.<br />
No track suits or untidy jeans.<br />
Local Rules<br />
All members should consult the<br />
competition notice board and<br />
their card for local rules. Penalty<br />
for breach of local rules is two<br />
strokes in stroke play and loss of<br />
hole in match play.<br />
Putting Green<br />
The prepared surface of the putting<br />
green may be smoothed in<br />
such a manner that no heaping<br />
of sand results to the benefit of<br />
the player. The smoothing is to<br />
extend approximately one metre<br />
past the hole.<br />
Monthly Mug<br />
The winner of the Monthly Mug is<br />
entitled to the Monthly Mug. .<br />

In the event of a tied score between members the following<br />
count back system will apply:<br />
AUSTRALIAN COUNT BACK SYSTEM<br />
Ties in events shall be decided wherever possible by replay but if<br />
the Committee considers this to be inexpedient the following count<br />
back method shall be used:<br />
1. For 18 hole events the best score for the last 9 holes shall be<br />
used; if there is still a tie the last 6 holes; or if still a tie the last<br />
three holes. If a tie still persists then hole by hole from the 18th.<br />
2. In 27, 36, 54, or 72 hole events the last 18 holes shall be used<br />
and, if still tied, count back as in (1) above.<br />
3. In the handicap events the relevant handicap or fraction thereof<br />
shall be applied.<br />
HANDICAP GRADING:<br />
A Grade: 0 - 17<br />
B Grade: 18 - 36<br />
Players must use the Australian Handicap for open competitions.<br />
Members are responsible for checking their own handicaps before<br />
play.<br />
SCROUNGERS:<br />
A nine hole competition is conducted each Thursday and Sunday.<br />
Hit off is between 1.00pm - 3.30pm.<br />
Members are to pay a $5.00 competition fee and Non-Members<br />
$10.00, and all must endorse the entry book before hitting off.<br />
