Who are Independent Workwear Solutions 

If you are in our catchment area within the Northwest of England including Yorkshire, Independent Workwear 

Solutions supply a comprehensive range of garments in various styles, fabrics and colours across all 

business sectors which include the workwear industrial laundry sector such as Engineering , Automotive, 

Food Trade, Food Manufacturing, Abbatoirs, Labs etc. 

We also have a specialist range of garments manufactured with the latest technical fabrics to ensure the 

wearer is adequately protected from welding sparks, sources of heat and flame, molten metal splash or arc 

splash. 

In addition we supply multi functional garments which can provide protection for numerous applications 

ensuring the wearer is protected from various risks or hazards within the workplace environment. 

Our suppliers use the highest quality UK dyed and finished treated fabric in conjunction on with there “cutting 

edge” inherent fabrics which are used in the manufacture of a Technical range of garments. We benefit from 

our manufacturer having both UK and offshore manufacturing facilities which gives us an advantage with 

pricing and flexibility in delivery times. 

Our suppliers use the most advanced production and management techniques and the materials are 

specially chosen for their durability, high performance and protection to ensure they comply with the latest 

standards. All of our garments are suitable for both domestic and industrial laundering. 

With our own “in house” design team, manufacturing, embroidery department and warehousing, all located 

in the UK we are able to provide a quick response to your workwear needs regardless of order size or

IWS offer a laundry service suitable for businesses who already own their own workwear 

or are planning to purchase new workwear from IWS. If you have already purchased your 

own workwear, IWS will ensure that your garments are chipped up and are suitable for 

industrial laundering. 

SPLIT RENTAL 

This highly advantageous option allows you to reduce your capital outlay and still take full 

advantage of our Laundry only service. If required, all rented garments can be laundered 

on an as and when required basis. 

DIRECT PURCHASE 

Should you want to buy your own workwear outright, then straight forward Direct Purchase

garments in the EU 

• Ejected Arc – projectile arc plasma 

• A tracking arc - Most common at higher voltages, 

arc plasma conducts on skin or through clothing 

In lab testing, we control movement of the arc for the sake 

of replication, but in reality, from 480V higher, the openair 

arc can quickly turn into an ejected arc or a tracking 

arc. 

Creating workwear that can protect against arc exposure 

has meant working closely with fabric manufactures and 

wearers as we sought to understand how we can mitigate 

this hazard whilst not compromising on comfort. In doing 

so we have design our Tecwear Arc Protect clothing 

range to be able to withstand extreme temperatures of up 

to 12,000°C, explosive forces, emission of plasma, fast 

moving debris and hot liquids.” 

To ensure that our Tecwear Arc Protect coveralls, 

jackets, trousers and base layers meet British and 

European safety standards we manufacture these 

garments under Article 11b and subject all our Arc 

protection garments to strict BTTG testing and 

certification. This means Tecwear Arc protection 

garments are accredited and conform to the latest IEC 

61482 – Protective Clothing against Thermal Hazards of 

Electric Arc, adding that much needed peace of mind.
