Order of the Amaranth A bit of history About 300 years ago – Queen Christina of Sweden creates the “Royal and Social Order of the Amarantha” Around 1730 – appears in France when the Lodges of Adoption were organized Began in the mid-19 th century in America, alongside the Order of the Eastern Star 1860 – Brother James B. Taylor learned that Queen Christina of Sweden had combined a group of “Sir Knights” and “Ladies” together to have “gala” parties He copied many of the symbols and phraseology, and copied the name “Order of the Amaranth”
